All the models you have shortlisted have their highlights and weaknesses. The Maruti Suzuki Brezza is a well-rounded vehicle that excels in space and comfort. Maruti's service network is a huge plus in its own right. However, as you rightly identified, the Brezza is not exciting to drive. This Maruti Suzuki car's performance is fine in city driving conditions, and it will cruise comfortably on the highway. But the engine lacks punch in case that's important to you. 

If strong performance and good handling are requirements, the Skoda Kylaq and Mahindra XUV 3XO are the ones to be most interested in. Both models are good to drive, but fuel economy could be a concern in bumper-to-bumper city driving. 

We feel you will find a good balance in the Hyundai Venue 1.0 Turbo DCT. The engine is strong enough, and the gearshifts are also nice and quick. DCTs do tend to fumble at low speeds and aren't as smooth as torque converter autos. Although, it's not really an issue and surely not to the extent of avoiding the gearbox type altogether. 

Fuel economy should also be better than what you'd get with a torque converter.  The new Venue is also quite a wholesome package. The cabin is quite spacious, and the material quality is impressive. 

The Skoda Kylaq nicely meets your priorities. Unlike others in the segment, the Skoda Kylaq comes equipped with a torque converter gearbox, which is the smoothest type to have. You will appreciate this, given that most of your driving is in city traffic. 

As for safety, the car is well equipped and has secured a 5-star BNCAP rating too. While Skoda has not been known for its reliability, the Kylaq has so far been performing well. 

And as for easy to drive, the Kylaq will not disappoint you as it feels light enough for the city, and the dimensions are nice and compact.     

For the family, the Kia Syros DCT is the most appropriate simply because the Syros has the most spacious cabin. The rear seats in particular are comfortable, offering more headroom and legroom than the Kia Sonet and Skoda Kylaq. 

The Syros is also superbly equipped, feels quite premium and has a large boot. The only issue is that the Syros pricing is a bit too high for a sub-4 metre SUV and not the best value. 

EVs are great for city travel; long-distance travel in EVs is possible but needs planning. 

Charging infrastructure is still not reliable, making long travel in EVs inconvenient. Instead, go for Skoda Kylaq, its 1 litre TSI engine with 6 speed AT works well in both city and highway. 

Kylaq gives a planted drive, has good driving dynamics and feels easy on the highway.
 

The Nissan Magnite is a good option for you. It has a spacious cabin and a comfortable rear seat that can accommodate three adults. 

Apart from a 1.0 NA petrol engine, the Magnite is also available with a punchy 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that can also be had with a CVT automatic. Meanwhile, the Skoda Kylaq's rear seat isn't as spacious for three adults.

You can consider the Hyundai i20 N Line for its sporty character, strong turbo petrol engine and its excellent driving dynamics. The car is feature-packed, with all the niceties and will easily fit within your budget. 

If you want a compact SUV, the Skoda Kylaq is a good option too, for its performance and sorted ride-handling balance
 

Since your usage is limited, the premium you will pay for a CNG or diesel version over the turbo-petrol might not make sense. Hence, stick to their turbo-petrol versions only. Both, the Mahindra XUV 3XO and Skoda Kylaq are great options, with strong engines, a comfortable ride and confident handling. 

The XUV 3XO is more spacious, while the Kylaq has a bigger boot. The Kia Syros is an excellent, well-rounded car, too, but its entry-level variant, which is decently equipped otherwise, doesn't get a sunroof. 

Hence, since you want a sunroof, within Rs 12 lakhs, the Mahindra XUV 3XO AX5 is the one for you.
