Mini Cooper Convertible

The Mini Cooper Convertible is the top-down version of the Mini Cooper 3-door hatchback. The Cooper convertible gets an electrically operated roof that opens/closes in 18 seconds. The convertible is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox.

When it goes on sale, the Cooper convertible will be the most affordable car sold in India with a drop-top roof. The Mini Cooper does not have any direct rivals, and the closest model featuring an electric folding roof is the MG Cyberster EV.

• The Cooper Convertible is based on the 3-door Cooper hatchback but gains an electrically operated roof.
• The convertible’s roof can be opened or closed in 18 seconds, and at speeds of up to 30kph.
• The Cooper Convertible will come in ‘S’ guise, which is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing 204hp and 300Nm of torque, mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
• The Mini convertible can do a 0-100kph sprint in 6.9 seconds. 
• The model's chassis gets additional structural bracing to enhance rigidity and safety, thus making it heavier than its hatchback counterpart. 
• While the convertible looks a lot similar to its hatchback sibling with its circular cues, it gets slightly different oblong-shaped LED taillamps with Union Jack detailing and 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. 
• The Convertible gets a minimal-looking cabin with a dual-tone theme; the dash is made of sustainable materials and is customisable. 
• The Cooper Convertible gets features like an Android-based 9.4-inch OLED touchscreen infotainment system, a head-up display, and will come with powered front seats, a Harman Kardon sound system, automatic climate control, a rearview camera, a wireless charging pad, ambient lighting and cruise control.
