I am confused between the Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella and the Skoda Kushaq (new facelift). Which one should I buy for better comfort? Price is not a constraint. Which is more value for money? My driving split is 50:50 city and highway.

We are yet to drive either of the cars you have mentioned, as they were unveiled yesterday. However, based on our experience with the Maruti Suzuki E Vitara, which the Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella is based on, the Skoda Kushaq should be the better option purely in terms of comfort and space.
Like the eVitara, the Ebella is unlikely to impress with rear seat comfort, and its boot is quite small. The Kushaq, on the other hand, has always been a spacious car, and it is safe to expect the new version to continue that trend. Added features such as rear massage seats, a panoramic sunroof, and the new 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster will further enhance the overall sense of premiumness.

So, I have two options shortlisted in my list. One is a well-maintained 2022 Jeep Meridian Limited (O) for โ‚น22 lakh. It has a clean service and insurance history. The other is considering a new car. Iโ€™m someone who values driving pleasure more than outright practicality. What would you suggest for someone whoโ€™s going to driving 60% city & 40% highway?

The Jeep Meridian's build, quality and ride-handling balance are excellent, and the price at which you're getting a well-maintained used example seems fair. Do keep in mind that the Meridian's diesel engine isn't very refined, and it can feel a bit sluggish within urban confines.
Alternatively, you could consider the 2.0 TSI versions of the Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Kodiaq, which are great driving cars. Their petrol version delivers strong and smooth performance, something that you are likely to appreciate. Both of these cars are available with a very competent 2.0 diesel engine, although these will be 5-year-old or older examples.
If you want a new SUV, the Mahindra XUV 7XO is a great option. And, in case you're open to electric cars, the Mahindra XEV 9e is one you will enjoy driving.

I want to buy a small SUV automatic (not AMT) within my budget of โ‚น11-12 lakh. My usage is about 600 km per month, mostly in the city. My priorities are a good interior, smooth ride quality, and good fuel economy. Please suggest suitable options.

Since you would specifically want to avoid an AMT, we would recommend the Skoda Kylaq. The newly launched Classic+ variant and higher Signature trim will be within your budget.

The automatic version comes with a torque convetor gearbox which is the smoothest autobox around. The 1.0-litre engine also delivers well enough on fuel efficiency and performance. 

The Kylaq's ride and handling balance is good, however it does feel jittery over low-speed bumps and ruts. If this is a deal breaker, we would suggest you look at the Maruti Brezza. It also has a torque convertor automatic, which delivers decent mileage and has a very nice low-speed ride. But, it will be slightly above your Rs 12 lakh budget.

I am looking to buy a new car with a maximum budget of โ‚น10-15 lakh. I want a car with a 4- or 5-star safety rating that delivers a decent fuel average. My usage will be mostly on weekends, with a maximum of 500-700 km per month. I want an automatic car, but not an AMT. My shortlist includes: Skoda Kyalq Signature Plus/Prestige TC 3XO AX5L Tata Nexon Creative Plus PS Dark 7 DCA Please suggest the best option.

Unfortunately, none of the turbo petrol options you listed will be very efficient. Given your limited running, this should not be a concern.

We would recommend choosing between the Skoda Kylaq and the Mahindra XUV 3XO. Both are engaging to drive, offer strong turbo petrol engines, smooth 6-speed torque converter automatics, and a comfortable ride.

The key difference is space. The Mahindra is the better five-seater thanks to its wider body, while the Skoda offers a larger and more practical boot.

The Tata Nexon remains one of the highest-selling cars in the segment, but it is also among the oldest and is due for an update.

My budget is 20 lakh, and the car is for family use. My driving includes 10% peak traffic, 60% stop-and-go traffic, 30% highway. The car should be petrol. I am considering the Hyundai Creta IVT and the Skoda Kushaq 1.0 TC. I am stuck between these two because of the trade-off between safety and mileage. However, mileage is slightly more important to me. Which should I choose?

Given your usage and requirements, the Hyundai Creta 1.5 Petrol IVT is the better bet. While it hasn't been crash-tested by BNCAP or GNCAP like the Skoda has (and scored a 5-star rating), it does have all the latest safety features, including ADAS on top-spec variants. Plus, Hyundai's track record on safety has been decent, if not excellent.
This powertrain is generally more efficient than the Skoda 1.0 TSI with the 6AT, but driven carefully, you could extract good mileage from that car too. The bigger reason is your heavy traffic usage, in which the Hyundai's excellent belt-driven CVT gearbox and linear naturally aspirated petrol will feel much smoother and easier to manage.
The Skoda's 1.0 TSI, punchy as it is, suffers from a lot of turbo lag at low speeds, and the 6-speed torque-converter auto is overly eager when moving off from a standstill, which becomes tiresome in stop-and-go traffic. Besides all this, the Creta is the more spacious and comfortable of the two.

The Skoda Kylaq would be a good option within your budget. The car is stable on highways, and the 1.0-litre engine delivers adequate performance. Also, the automatic gearbox is a torque convertor unit, which is the smoothest type to have. 

Moreover, the Kylaq's driving manners are more fun, and very much driver-focused in the same character as your Ford Ecosport. So, this is something that you would enjoy too.

I have a budget of โ‚น50 lakh on-road and need a comfortable 7-seater car. Which one should I buy?

There aren't many choices in the Rs 50 lakh range for seven-seater cars, but there are a few options to consider. If the third-row space is not critical and will only be used occasionally for short trips, the best seven-seater for your budget is the Skoda Kodiaq. It drives exceptionally well, thanks to a smooth and strong turbocharged petrol engine, as well as good handling. 

The cabin is well-equipped and feels pretty premium, too. You could also consider the Volkswagen Tayron. It will be launched next month and is in the same league as the Kodiaq, though the price has not been announced yet. 

If third row comfort and all-around space are your priority, then Innova Hycross hybrid is your best option. But, it is a step down from the Kodiaq, and Tayron. Being a hybrid, you will find it exceptionally smooth, especially when it runs in full electric mode.

The Skoda Kylaq will be the perfect choice for your requirements. It has a punchy 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and is available in both a manual gearbox and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
The Kylaq has compact dimensions and has a well-balanced chassis that makes the car great fun to drive. The handling is particularly impressive, and it has a good build too. The Prestige variant in manual guise will fit in your budget, while the Signature+ AT variant works if you prefer the automatic.

I wanted to buy a new automatic car for my sister, who is new to driving. We are confused among Nissan Magnite CVT, Skoda Kylaq AT, Tata Punch AMT, Fronx AMT, and Honda Maze CVT. Which among these is best for both city and highway drives based on gearbox and reliability? The budget is 10 to 13 lakhs. Kindly suggest.

The Nissan Magnite's turbo-petrol and CVT is a great combination, and it makes for an effortless drive experience. In isolation, this is a good car; however, when viewed in light of other cars, the Magnite doesn't feel as refined or as premium as the other options listed.
Out of the options, the Skoda Kylaq AT is the best in terms of performance and quality. It feels well-built, is easy to drive, and is well-suited for both urban and highway usage.

I want to purchase a new automatic car for city driving with a budget of around โ‚น15 lakh. Please suggest suitable options.

Since you currently have a Maruti Suzuki Baleno, we would suggest you upgrade to something like the Honda Amaze or the Skoda Kylaq. Both cars come in under 4 meters in length and so are better suited to crowded city conditions.  

The Amaze's CVT automatic gearbox is smoother than many AMTs that come at this price point. Especially when driven at low, constantly changing speeds in the city and being a sedan. It will feel like an upgrade and offer you more boot space, too, should that be a requirement for you. 

If you don't like the idea of a sedan, you can opt for the Skoda Kylaq, which will offer you a higher seating point and better ground clearance. Also, the automatic gearbox on the Kylaq is a torque convertor, which is the smoothest autobox around.
