Hi team, I'm 5′9″ and well built. I need a bike for my daily city commute of about 30 km, and I want it to be not above 350 cc. I am a sedate driver. Please suggest.

Since most of your usage is inside the city, bikes like the Hero Xpulse 210, Royal Enfield Bullet / Classic / Hunter 350, Honda CB350 trio and the TVS Ronin will make for good options to consider depending on your preference.

If you do want something a touch sportier but not very rambunctious, then the KTM 250 Duke also makes for a great companion.

A test ride of everything you decide to shortlist will help you make a decision.

I want to exchange my 2018 HF Deluxe. I have shortlisted the Splendor Xtec Disc and the Glamour X. My running is approximately 1,000 km per month in the city. Please suggest which one I should buy. Thanks.

Since you haven't mentioned whether or not you want to step up from your current machine's performance ceiling and price bracket, it will be difficult to give you a clear-cut answer. The Hero MotoCorp Splendor Xtec (disc brake variant) will have many similarities to your HF Deluxe in terms of its performance, comfort, mileage, and overall riding experience. It is also going to be the more affordable option, but with a 100cc engine, its performance will be a clear step down from the Glamour.

On the other hand, the Hero MotoCorp Glamour X will be a far more feature-rich offering with better performance and will also feel like a more substantial bike. Of course, there will be some sacrifice in fuel economy, but that's the tradeoff with moving to a bigger machine.

If you value mileage above all else, then the Splendor is the better option, but if you want a bike that feels like a step up from your HF Deluxe, the Glamour X is the way to go.

You should also take a serious look at the Honda Shine 100 and Shine 125 models if you're shopping in this space. Take test rides of everything you shortlist before you decide.

Hi, I am an office goer planning to purchase a new bike in 2026 and want to upgrade from a 125 cc to a 150/160 cc bike. I commute about 60 km daily, with roughly 50% on decent roads and 50% on broken roads. Can you please suggest a bike in the 150/160 cc segment that offers both comfort and good mileage?

I used to own a TVS Apache RTR 180 and want to upgrade to a higher capacity motorcycle. My budget is ₹2.5 Lakhs. I will mainly ride within the city, with very occasional long rides. I am 5'8" and looking for something that has good power( for city overtake) and mileage, as my daily commute is 50 km.

Since you are a TVS owner, there are a couple of products you can consider from the same manufacturer itself. The TVS Ronin and Apache RTR 310 will both be good options to step up to, although they will have very different riding experiences. The former will have a more relaxed, torque-rich riding experience, while the latter will have an engine that will reward you the more you rev it.

In a similiar vein, you can also consider the KTM 250 Duke, which will be an energetic machine that's reasonably fuel efficient too. If you're open to getting an ADV, bikes like the TVS Apache RTX 300 and Hero Xpulse 210 make for good options in your price range. Take a test ride of all before you decide.

Hi AC team, I am currently 17 years old and will turn 18 in April 2026. After April, I want to buy a new bike for myself. I have enquired about the Honda CB125 Hornet, Yamaha MT-15, NS160, and Hero Xtreme 125R. The Honda CB125 Hornet makes a good case for itself as your first bike with its lightweight, frugal engine and flashy style. You should also take a look at the Hero Xtreme 125R and TVS Raider because there are some areas where these bikes have an upper hand on the Honda.

Bigger bikes like the Bajaj Pulsar NS160 and Yamaha MT-15 will offer you more performance, albeit at the cost of fuel efficiency. They will also be a little heavier, but it won't be a big difference.

A test ride and a clear expectation of what you want from the bike will help you decide which bike is best for you.

I own a 2022 TVS Raider as my first bike, and it has been a good learner motorcycle. I am now planning to upgrade and have shortlisted the TVS Apache RTR 310, Hero Xtreme 250R, and Yamaha XSR155. Please advise which is the best value-for-money option for long-term ownership with sportiness and minimal service issues.

Of the three bikes you've shortlisted, the Hero Xtreme 250R and the TVS Apache RTR 310 will feel like the more substantial upgrades. However, both TVS and Hero have spotty reputations for service, especially in the context of their premium products, so that is something to bear in mind.

The Yamaha XSR155 is a delightful machine, but it won't feel like a big upgrade over your Raider. We recommend you take a look at something like the Honda CB300F and the KTM 250 Duke. Do take test rides of all shortlisted options before going ahead with your purchase.

Hello Autocar, I am looking to buy a bike for my daily commute of around 80 km, consisting of 60 km of highway and 20 km of city riding. I am confused between the TVS RTX, Hero Xpulse, and Suzuki V-Strom SX. Should I wait for the BMW 450 GS? I am looking for a comfortable and plush ride. P.S. I sold my FZ a year ago and am now looking to buy a new bike.

The TVS Apache RTX 300 is a great option because it is comfortable, quick, reasonably fuel-efficient when ridden sensibly, and comes at a great price for everything you get with it. The Hero Xpulse 210 is another great option because it gives you lovely comfort and genuine off-road capability with peppy performance.

The Suzuki V-Strom SX is a simple but sorted bike; however, in comparison to these two, it feels a little too simple and also not as comfortable, which is why we would recommend you choose between the TVS and the Hero. Take a test ride of these two before you decide.
