The Hero Super Splendor Xtec is a modern 125cc premium commuter that sits a tier above the 97.2cc Splendor Plus. It is powered by a 124.7cc engine that produces 10.72hp and 10.6Nm, offering noticeably better performance while carrying a pillion or luggage during higher-speed riding. The engine is also paired with a 5-speed gearbox, which should make city cruising feel more relaxed compared to 4-speed rivals.

Despite the extra power, the difference in fuel efficiency is not very drastic. As per Hero, the Super Splendor Xtec delivers 68kpl of mileage, compared to around 70kpl claimed for the Splendor Plus. The motorcycle also gets features like a digital dash, LED headlamp, high-intensity position lamp, and Bluetooth connectivity with SMS and call alerts.

Currently, the Super Splendor Xtec is available in two variants: Drum and Disc, and depending on the variant selected, its price varies. The Super Splendor Xtec price starts at ₹84.45 thousand and goes up to ₹88.04 thousand. Meanwhile, the Hero Super Splendor Xtec on road price in major Indian cities like Delhi, Kolkata, Pune, Chennai, and Mumbai ranges between Rs 95,502 lakh and Rs 1.08 lakh.

Factors to Consider Before Buying Super Splendor Xtec

  • The bike does not offer ABS on any variant.
  • Despite having a fully digital Bluetooth console, the display lacks turn-by-turn navigation.
  • As per some owners, the 5-speed gearbox can sometimes feel stiff and clunky, especially when downshifting from 3rd to 2nd gear or while trying to find neutral in heavy city traffic.

Hi team, I own a Honda Activa 2019, which I hate for its ride quality. I want to buy a bike or scooter with a budget of ₹1.4 to 1.8 lakh (up to ₹2 lakh if required), which has a good ride quality, good suspension, good seat cushion/comfort, no back pain, and reasonable mileage and maintenance. My ride will be mostly in the city with 40km/day.

Within your budget, you have a variety of options, and we'll first recommend the scooters since that is your current mode of transport. In the scooter segment, the TVS Jupiter models and the Suzuki Access are our top picks for their balance of practicality, fuel economy, and comfort. If you want something flashier looking, you can consider the TVS Ntorq and the Suzuki Avenis, although the former is a much sportier product.Moving to motorcycles, you can opt for anything in the 125-160cc space. Within the 125cc class, you can choose between the Honda Shine and Hero Super Splendor / Glamour models if you want a straightforward, no-frills commuter. On the other hand, bikes like the TVS Raider, Hero Xtreme 125R, and Honda CB125 Hornet will give you sportier looks, peppier performance, and more features too. Finally, in the 160cc space, bikes like the Honda Unicorn, Bajaj Pulsar N160, and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V will serve you well. Do take a test ride of every option you're considering before you decide.
