I am confused between the Mahindra BE 6 electric and the Tata Sierra diesel. I drive around 50 km daily. Which one should I buy?

The two SUVs are really very different, and the choice between the two comes down to what you want and value more. The Mahindra BE 6 is a thrilling car to drive and a very flashy one that appeals to the heart. However, there are many compromises like a difficult entry and exit, low interior space and reduced all-around visibility.
The Sierra, on the other hand, is not as exciting to drive as the BE 6, but it delivers a much better user experience with very good interior space. So the electric Mahindra BE 6 would be more for the heart, while the diesel Tata Sierra would be more for the head.

Planning to purchase the XEV 9S Pack Two. (1) I am worried whether a major change like solid-state battery technology will arrive in the near future, making this purchase a bad choice. (2) The bouncy suspension in Pack Three, will it be the same in Pack Two as well?

Battery technology will continue to evolve, and solid-state batteries or something else could have a breakthrough and enter the mainstream. However, it is difficult to predict when that will happen.
As for your query on the bouncy ride, yes, the Pack 3 variant has an adaptive suspension system, and it does get floaty over undulations. We have yet to review the Mahindra XEV 9S Pack 2 version. We would recommend you take a test drive of this particular version before you make any decision.

I am looking for an SUV with an automatic transmission, preferably a hybrid (if not, then petrol), large legroom, good boot space, all-around sensors or a 360-degree camera, good infotainment, nice interiors, and climate control. Budget is around ₹18 lakh, can stretch to ₹20 lakh. I had Kia and Creta in mind, but I am unsure about the variant. There is also no hybrid option in these. I can wait if a better hybrid is coming out within this year.

Since you are looking for a hybrid SUV around Rs 20 lakh, the Toyota Hyryder, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, or the Victoris would fall into your consideration set and offer you the features you are looking for, like climate control and a good infotainment system.
However, since all three have the hybrid battery placed in the boot, you do lose out a lot on cargo volume, and since this is also a big priority for you, we would suggest you wait for the Renault Duster hybrid, which is coming around Diwali this year.  While its boot will be smaller than the non-hybrid version, it will still be much larger than what the Toyota and Maruti hybrids offer. Since you are willing to wait, this would be a sensible option. Since you said you can wait for about a year, we would think this would be wise.

My budget is ₹23-24 lakh, and I am confused between the Tata Sierra and the Mahindra XUV7XO.

The choice between the Sierra and XUV 7X0 comes down to your specific requirements. The Mahindra XUV 7XO would be the one to go for if you require a third row of seats, as the Sierra does not offer one. It's also the one to go for if driving pleasure and strong engines are something you prefer, as both the petrol and diesel are more peppy than those on the Sierra.
However, if you want something mainly for the city, the Tata Sierra, being smaller, would be a bit better suited; the engines would offer you a slightly better efficiency.

Looking to buy a 7-seater car mainly for city use. Daily running is not much. Comfort is the priority. The maximum budget is ₹25 lakhs.

You should consider the Kia Carens Clavis. The Carens Clavis has a spacious and comfortable cabin for 7 adults, and it comes loaded with features. It also has light controls, which make it easy to drive in town. Engine options include a 115hp, 1.5 naturally aspirated petrol, a 160hp, 1.5 turbo petrol and a 116hp, 1.5 diesel.
Since your running isn't much, opt for one of the petrols. However, if you want a petrol-auto, you will have to go for the turbo petrol, which comes paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Kia Carens Clavis prices range from Rs 11.08 lakh to Rs 20.71 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

I own two cars: a Brezza petrol TC and a Baleno Zeta CNG. My daily run is 60-70 km in the city, mostly on good roads. I am thinking of replacing the Baleno with another CNG car that has a better driving stance and higher ground clearance, as I sometimes get tired driving the Baleno for long hours. The Brezza is mostly used for outstation family vacations. Please recommend a good CNG car under ₹13 lakhs that is feature-rich and reliable. Some must-have features for me are white LED projector headlamps, alloy wheels, and a good stock speaker system.

Given your requirements, you should consider the Tata Punch CNG AMT. The Punch offers a ground clearance of 193mm, LED headlamps, 16-inch alloy wheels and an excellent 8-speaker audio system. Other notable features include a 10.25-inch touchscreen, a sunroof, a wireless phone charger, 6 airbags and a 360-degree camera.
The Punch CNG AMT is powered by a 1.2-litre engine paired with a 5-speed AMT automatic gearbox. Being a CNG, you'll still benefit from the lower running costs, but unlike your Maruti Baleno CNG, this is an automatic, so it will be more convenient and comfortable for you to drive for long durations. Tata Punch CNG AMT prices range from Rs 9.95 lakh to Rs 12.30 lakh (on-road, Delhi).

I am looking for a 7-seater with a budget of around ₹12+ lakhs. Occasional highway driving with limited city use. Not looking for the Maruti Ertiga.

Given your requirements, you should consider the Kia Carens. It is a practical, spacious and comfortable 7-seater MPV that comes reasonably equipped as well.
The Carens can be had with either a 115hp, 1.5-litre petrol or a 116hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine. Since your usage isn't going to be high, go for the Kia Carens Premium (O) Petrol MT, which is priced at Rs 12.80 lakh (on-road, Delhi).

I am looking for a 7-seater car under ₹13 lakhs with good comfort and road presence. Which car should I consider, and which variant would you suggest?

The best 7-seater SUV you can buy under Rs 13 lakh is the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. It is a very practical and spacious MPV that is also comfortable. The Ertiga's 103hp, 1.5-litre petrol engine is fuel-efficient, with a claimed mileage of 20.51kpl with a 5-speed manual and 20.3kpl with a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
Depending on which gearbox you want, you should go for either the ZXI-manual (Rs 12.71 lakh, on-road, Delhi) or the VXI-automatic (Rs 13.04 lakh, on-road, Delhi). The VXI gets the basics like an audio system, manual AC, 6 airbags, projector headlamps and more. The ZXI adds niceties like an auto climate control, a 7-inch touchscreen, alloy wheels and much more.

I want to go for one of the Indian companies. My preferences are high safety, good mileage, low maintenance, strong road presence, high ground clearance, big boot space, and good drivability. My budget is ₹23 lakh on-road. I am okay with not having hi-tech features or a sunroof. I am currently looking at the Harrier, Safari, XUV7XO, and now the Sierra as well. I am open to other options as well. My daily drive is around 55 km, so I am open to diesel as well, and I am looking for very long-term ownership.

Most cars from India's two big brands - Tata and Mahindra - have scored well in Bharat NCAP or Global NCAP crash tests, and in your price range, all come equipped with a strong set of safety features. The SUVs from these brands are also pretty good on boot space, road presence and ground clearance, so you can't go wrong with any on those counts as well.
Given your daily usage of 55km, a diesel car is beneficial for low running costs, but not essential either. However, as all your shortlisted cars do offer a diesel option, it's worthwhile to choose one of them; they all offer good driveability too. When it comes to fuel efficiency or mileage, the Tata Sierra comes out on top of the others, as it uses a smaller and more efficient 1.5-litre engine, compared to the others, which use 2.0 or 2.2-litre diesels that are nowhere near as efficient.
On top of that, the Sierra feels like the newest and freshest of the lot, though the recently updated Mahindra XUV 7XO is not far behind. As for maintenance, neither brand has a stellar track record for service quality, but the costs are reasonable and competitive.

I own a Maruti Wagon R and have been driving it for the past 12 years. I prefer Maruti Suzuki or its other models. My budget is ₹7-8 lakhs. I require that the seat height be similar to the Wagon R. Please suggest an alternative.

If you are looking for a car that is as tall as the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, the Celerio makes for a logical next step. The Celerio is a good option to consider as it is a tall-boy hatchback like the Wagon R and offers a spacious cabin with good headroom and a high seating position.
The Maruti Suzuki Celerio is available with a 1.0-litre petrol engine, which is the same one used in the new Wagon R, and this engine is peppy, and the car is easy to drive in the city. It is also incredibly fuel-efficient, making this hatchback one of the most fuel-efficient petrol cars in India.
The good news is you can get a fully loaded Celerio in your budget - even with an AMT automatic, should you so desire, and its more upmarket design inside and out makes it feel like a noticeable upgrade from the Wagon R.
