The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 is a fully-faired sports motorcycle, powered by a 249cc engine producing 26.5 hp. The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 and Suzuki Gixxer 250 motorcycles use the same engine and produce the same power, but the SF 250 comes with a full fairing, a windscreen and clip-on handlebars which gives it a sportier riding feel without being too aggressive. Its styling is also inspired by Suzuki's larger GSX-R series motorcycles which gives it a premium appearance.

One of the biggest highlights of the Gixxer SF 250 is Suzuki's Oil Cooling System (SOCS). Instead of using a conventional liquid-cooling system, SOCS helps keep the engine cool while keeping the motorcycle lightweight and easy to handle in city traffic. Suzuki also offers the Gixxer SF 250 FFV variant, which can run on high-ethanol fuel blends of up to E85, giving buyers a more flexible and eco-friendly fuel option.

Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 FAQs

Both motorcycles use the same 249cc oil-cooled engine, but the FFV (Flex Fuel Version) can run on ethanol-blended fuel up to E85. It also delivers slightly higher power and torque than the standard model.

Suzuki's Oil Cooling System (SOCS) uses engine oil to control heat, making the engine lighter and mechanically simpler than a conventional liquid-cooled setup. Liquid-cooled engines, on the other hand, use coolant, a radiator and additional components for temperature management.

No, the Gixxer SF 250 is designed as a sporty road motorcycle rather than a dedicated track bike. Its full fairing and clip-on handlebars offer a sporty feel, while the riding posture remains comfortable enough for everyday use.

The pillion seat is suitable for short city rides, but it may feel less comfortable on longer journeys due to its firm cushioning, high footpegs and slightly sporty seating position.

How does the Triumph T4 2026 old-stock model (400cc engine) compare to the Gixxer 250SF? I am planning to upgrade from Xtreme 160R. My total usage in the metro in-city.

The Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 is due to undergo a generation change later this year, and we'd advise you not to buy the current model, as that will be phased out soon, and the next-gen model will likely bring in many meaningful updates to this aged platform.Coming to the Triumph Speed T4 (400cc version), this is an accomplished city bike, and if you can find one, we'd recommend you jump on that because now all single-cylinder Triumphs in India are 350cc. Coming from the XTreme 160R, this will be a comprehensive upgrade, although lower fuel economy will be one trade-off.
