The Bajaj Dominar 250 is a sports-tourer motorcycle that perfectly balances long-distance touring and agile city commuting. It was launched in India on 11 March, 2020, and since then, it has positioned itself as the brand’s quarter-litre sports tourer.

Currently, the Dominar 250 is available in a single variant, the Standard and is 12kg lighter than its elder sibling - Dominar 400. The Dominar 250 weight is 180kg, whereas the Dominar 400 weighs 192kg (kerb).

The Dominar 250 price is ₹1.77 lakh (ex-showroom). As per ARAI, the Dominar 250 mileage is around 35.03 kpl. And with its 13-litre fuel tank, it offers a practical riding range of approximately 455km, depending on the riding habits and weather conditions. Plus, the 800mm of seat height makes the Dominar 250 quite accessible for most riders with an average height of 5.5 ft.

I’ve used a 2011 Honda Shine 125 for 15 years and now want to upgrade to a higher-cc, family-oriented bike. I’m 5′5″ and need a low seat height. I’m considering motorcycles above 125 cc and below 350 cc. Please suggest suitable options.

You can consider bikes in the 250cc category, and for your needs, the Suzuki Gixxer 250, Bajaj Pulsar N250, and the Bajaj Dominar 250 should get the job done.

The Gixxer 250 and Pulsar N250 are good for city commuting with their nimble handling abilities, while the Dominar 250 is heavier and more touring-oriented, making it good for highway runs.

Do take a test ride of all these motorcycles with a pillion on board before making a purchase.
