The Bajaj Freedom 125 is the world's first, and currently only, production-model CNG bike. It is currently available in 3 variants: Drum, Drum LED, and Disc LED. The Bajaj Freedom 125 uses a 124.58cc single-cylinder engine that makes 9.5hp and 9.7Nm of torque. The main highlight of this Bajaj bike is that it can run on both CNG and petrol. You can switch between the two fuels at the press of a button. In testing, the Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG mileage was recorded at 94km/kg in the city and 126km/kg on the highway. The Bajaj Freedom 125 petrol mileage was measured at 53.4kpl in the city and 62.37kpl on the highway.

In everyday riding, the bike feels slightly quicker in petrol mode and reaches 60kph about a second faster than in CNG mode. That said, this is not a sporty bike. Bajaj Freedom 125 is meant to be a simple, comfortable commuter that focuses more on saving money than outright performance.

While the Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG bike is extremely cost-effective, there are some compromises. The engine output of 9.5hp makes it the least powerful 125cc commuter. Acceleration feels closer to a 100-110cc bike. The Bajaj Freedom 125 seat height of 825 mm is higher than typical commuters. Riders under 5’5” may need to be mindful while stopping.
