Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched the new Gixxer SF 250 MotoGP edition at Rs 1.71 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The MotoGP edition of the bike is painted in the same colours that adorn the 2019 Suzuki GSX-RR MotoGP model. This special version costs Rs 800 over the standard Suzuki Gixxer SF 250.

The bright blue paint scheme on the Gixxer SF 250 MotoGP edition makes the bike look quite striking, with a big Suzuki logo running across the side of the fairing and the Ecstar branding right below it. Other highlights include fluorescent-yellow pinstripes on the wheels.

Besides the special colour scheme, the Gixxer MotoGP edition has the same design and mechanicals as the regular Gixxer SF 250. The bike is powered by a 249cc, single-cylinder, SOHC oil-cooled engine that makes 26.5hp at 9,000rpm and 22.6Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. The fuel-injected engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

Speaking about the launch of the Gixxer SF 250, Devashish Handa, vice president, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd said, “Following the success of the Gixxer SF 250, we are thrilled to launch the MotoGP edition of the Gixxer SF 250 that asserts Suzuki’s racing DNA. The Suzuki Racing Blue colour has always been the identity of Suzuki’s spirit and passion for racing. The contemporary styling coupled with sporty design and high performance engine powered with the innovative SOCS technology, further enhances the racing character of the motorcycle. We are sure that the motorcycle will be received with the same enthusiasm as the other variants of Gixxer brand.”

The Gixxer SF 250 sits between the Yamaha Fazer 25 (Rs 1.44 lakh) and Honda CBR250R ABS (Rs 1.95 lakh) in the Indian market. Other similarly priced motorcycles are the KTM RC 200 (Rs 1.90 lakh), Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 (Rs 1.40 lakh) and the Bajaj Dominar 400 (Rs 1.80 lakh).
