The Tata Punch EV is a great value proposition, but at 6'4", you are already experiencing its biggest limitation: cabin space. The driving position is upright, and the seat does not go low enough, which can become uncomfortable on longer drives. Since you are willing to stretch your budget, the MG Windsor EV is the better fit. It offers a significantly more spacious cabin, a wider and more comfortable seat, and a more relaxed driving position. Range is one aspect where this MG car doesn't really hit the 350km mark. Around 300km is what you can expect in normal driving conditions. Highway trips will have to be planned well. The screen inside dominates the dashboard. It is a more premium product than the Punch EV, but the extra spend is justified by the comfort and space.The other option is the new Kia Syros EV. It might seem compact, but the interior is surprisingly spacious, even for tall adults. The battery is a 51.4kWh unit from the bigger Clavis EV, so 400km in one charge should be possible. The rear seat space is also excellent, and the quality of the cabin, along with the usability of day-to-day functions, makes it a very strong contender.

Go for the Tata Sierra EV 75kWh. It's the superior EV in almost every way. It's got a significantly larger battery, so even if it isn't quite as efficient as the MG Windsor Essence Pro, the overall real-world range will be better. Though the Windsor is spacious, the Sierra is even more so, with a much larger boot. It's more powerful with a rear-wheel-drive layout and more fun to drive as well. Tata's service network is also wider than MG's, so you are more likely to find something closer to you.The only things that could swing it in favour of the MG car are the fact that it is slightly smaller and thus easier to manoeuvre around town, and the Rs 3 lakh price difference. However, we feel in this case the Sierra EV 75kWh is worth the stretch, and that you should go for it

If home charging can be arranged, the Tata Tiago EV is the strongest fit for these requirements. The electric powertrain delivers seamless, jerk-free acceleration, making it especially easy for first-time drivers. Its compact dimensions and tight turning circle also make it far easier to manoeuvre in narrow lanes and into tight parking spaces. With monthly running of less than 500km, running costs will be extremely low, and the Tiago EV remains one of the most sensible city cars on sale.Another option worth considering is the MG Comet. While its unconventional two-door layout won't suit every family, it is exceptionally easy to drive in congested city traffic. For a car that will spend almost all of its time in the city, this MG car has plenty of merit.If you cannot arrange for home charging, then we'll recommend the Hyundai i20 IVT. The engine is smooth, and the transmission is seamless, resulting in a jerk-free drive experience that's better than all other cars equipped with an automated manual transmission (AMT). Do keep in mind that the i20 is a relatively large car, so maneuvering it might not be as easy as the Tata Tiago EV or MG Comet.

If you enjoy driving, we'd recommend you stick with your Volkswagen Virtus 1.5 GT. At 16,000km and a 1,000km/month usage pattern, mostly in the city, the car is still relatively new and well within its prime ownership window. The 1.5 TSI is a strong, efficient engine and the Virtus is a genuinely enjoyable car to drive, especially in urban conditions where its size and performance are well suited. Your budget of Rs 14 lakh resale plus Rs 3-4 lakh extra puts you in the Rs 17-18 lakh range, which limits your electric car options to models like the Tata Nexon EV, Mahindra XUV 3XO EV, MG Windsor and Kia Syros EV. While these are competent cars, they will not feel like a meaningful upgrade over the Virtus in terms of overall ownership experience. The financial case for switching to an EV at this stage is also weak given the depreciation hit you would take on a nearly new car. Unless you have a strong desire to go electric, it makes more sense to continue with the Virtus for a few more years and revisit the EV decision when your usage pattern or the EV market justifies it.

Your 2019 BS4 diesel MG Hector is still allowed to be driven in Delhi, but there are a few important restrictions to keep in mind.Delhi enforces a 10-year age limit for diesel vehicles.
