Maruti Suzuki offers 10 models via its Arena outlets (as of January 2026), catering largely to budget-conscious buyers. The Maruti Suzuki Arena line up includes Alto K10, S-Presso, Wagon R, Celerio, Swift, Dzire, Brezza, Eeco, Ertiga, and Victoris. The new Maruti Victoris SUV will take on the Hyundai Creta.

Maruti offers 7 models through Nexa outlets (as of January 2026) that cater to premium buyers by offering more feature-rich and stylish models. I want to buy a new car with good features, strong safety, attractive looks, and fuel economy. I have shortlisted two models-the Maruti Victoris ZXI+ (O) and the Toyota Hybridder petrol (V) model, and I’m not sure which one to choose. Please help me decide.

The two SUVs you've shortlisted are virtually the same under the skin, so choosing between them really comes down to preference. They both meet your criteria of safety, good looks and economy. 

The Maruti Victoris has the slight edge on the Toyota Hyryder thanks to its slightly lower pricing, more modern tech and longer features list - including ADAS with Level 2 Autonomous driving. 

While the Victoris has scored a 5-star rating from both Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP. The Hyryder is yet to be tested, but as they share the same mechanical make-up, its overall score shouldn't be too far off.

I am planning to buy my first car with a budget of up to ₹10 lakh, although I can stretch it slightly if required. My preferences are an automatic transmission, long-term reliability, less-gimmicky features, and a decent level of safety. I am currently confused between the Honda Amaze and the Maruti Suzuki Brezza. Are there any other options I should consider?

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza is a good option to consider. It is spacious, has a comfortable ride, and the 1.5-litre petrol engine is refined and punchy. The 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox is smooth and quick to respond, and the Brezza is also well equipped.
The Honda Amaze is also a good option, and it is the only car in this segment to offer a diesel engine. The 1.5-litre diesel is punchy and efficient, and the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox is smooth and quick to respond. The Amaze is also spacious and comfortable, and it is well-equipped too.

I want to buy a new car with a maximum budget of ₹7 lakh. Which option should I go for: Tata Altroz, Maruti Baleno, or Citroen C3? My priorities are good drive quality, mostly city use, reliability, and low maintenance. If I choose Baleno or Glanza, which is the most value-for-money variant?

All three options on your shortlist are nice to drive in their own ways. The Maruti Suzuki Baleno is very comfortable at city speeds with excellent bump absorption and a peppy engine. Tata's Altroz feels the toughest of the three cars and drives with a big car feel out on the highway. The Citroen C3 has a nice engine, and it also balances ride and comfort very well. 

However, for reliability and ease of service, the Baleno is your best bet. The Baleno is known to be a trouble-free car, and Maruti's vast network means you are never far from a service centre. Service costs are also competitive. 

The Toyota Glanza is essentially a rebadged version of the Baleno, but does cost more for similarly-specced variants. We'd recommend sticking to the Baleno. Within Rs 7 lakh, you'll get the Sigma variant, though we'd recommend upping your budget a bit (and bargaining hard with your dealer!) to get the higher-spec Delta trim. 

It packs in extras such as a powered mirror adjust as well as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that would add greatly to your experience.

I am planning to buy a new SUV that should be automatic petrol (not AMT). My monthly running is only about 200 km, and my budget is ₹12 lakh. Please suggest an automatic SUV that fits my requirements.

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza AT VXI is a sensible choice, though it's a bit out of your budget. The Brezza isn't exciting to drive, but it delivers reasonable performance and fuel economy and also scores well for ride comfort. The cabin is also practical and roomy. 

If you want something more exciting, you have the option of the Mahindra XUV 3XO Petrol AT MX3, the Skoda Kylaq AT Signature, and the Maruti Suzuki Fronx Turbo AT Zeta. The 3XO feels strong and offers the most room for five passengers, if that's a requirement. 

The Skoda Kylaq is most enjoyable to drive thanks to its fun handling and punchy engine. Maruti's Fronx Turbo strikes a good balance between performance and fuel economy.

I currently own a 2012 Ford Fiesta Classic 1.4 CLXi diesel. I recently underwent spine surgery for lumbar disc protrusions and have been advised not to ride two-wheelers. My budget is ₹8-10 lakh for a car with automatic transmission, excellent shock absorbers for back comfort, high reliability, low maintenance, and maximum safety features. My daily use is about 4 km in town, and I may do up to 400 km per month on long drives. Please suggest suitable options.

You should choose between the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and the updated Tata Punch. The Baleno scores very well on low-speed ride comfort, and seat comfort is also very good. The Baleno's engine is peppier, and its AMT is also nicer in typical city driving. 

The Tata Punch AMT is a model of interest because of its elevated seating position. The high seating position makes it easy to get into and out of the car. The Punch feels tough, and ride comfort is good, particularly on bad patches of road. While both models get 6 airbags as standard, the Punch additionally boasts a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating.

I want to buy a sedan car with a budget of ₹10 lakh. Which car will be better in terms of mileage, power, and a smoother ride?

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire is the most complete sedan that you can get within Rs 10 lakh. It packs in quite a few features, and cabin space is impressive, though rear headroom could be an issue for tall passengers. 

What also works in the Dzire's favour is its peppy and efficient 1.2-litre petrol engine. Good ride comfort rounds off the package.

If you are looking for an automatic sedan within Rs 10 lakh and you value smooth gearshifts, consider the Honda Amaze CVT. The CVT gearbox is much smoother than the Dzire's AMT.

I need an automatic car within a budget of ₹7.5 lakh, and I prefer Maruti Suzuki. Could you please suggest some options?

You should choose between the Maruti Suzuki Ignis Zeta AMT and the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R 1.2 AMT ZXI Plus. Both models are powered by 1.2-litre petrol engines that give them a power advantage over other automatic Marutis in your budget (namely, Celerio, Alto K10 and S-Presso).

Both use automated manual transmission or AMT-type automatics. While these aren't the slickest automatic gearboxes, Maruti's AMTs work smoothly enough if you adopt an easygoing driving style. Fuel economy is also excellent.  

Of the two, the Wagon R is more spacious and has a more absorbent ride comfort. On the other hand, the Ignis packs in more features for the same money. If cabin space isn't a deal breaker, opt for the Ignis.

Hi, I do not drive myself and use a chauffeur-driven car. Usage is mostly within the city with occasional highway trips. The car is used about two days a week. My budget is ₹12 lakh, and low yearly maintenance is very important. Which car would you recommend?

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza is a good choice for your requirements. It is economical to run and maintain, and promises a stress-free ownership experience. What also works in the Brezza's favour is a roomy enough cabin, comfortable seats and plush ride comfort.
If you are open to the MPV body style, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is also worth a look. It's comfortable and works surprisingly well as a chauffeur-driven vehicle. If you want a spacious vehicle within a small footprint, there's also the Kia Syros that you could look at. However, maintenance will be costlier than with a Brezza.

I am confused between the Sierra Pure 1.5 NA petrol MT and the Victoris VXI MT/AT. My priorities are safety and reliability, and my annual driving is around 8,000km. I have test-driven the Victoris AT and found it very smooth, but rear-seat headroom and shoulder room felt limited compared to the Sierra. Since the Sierra is a new model, I am unsure about its performance and long-term reliability. Please advise.

Purely as a chauffeur-driven car, the Tata Sierra 1.5 NA petrol MT is an excellent choice for its easy-going, refined nature and a very comfortable cabin. However, its engine performance is lacklustre, and the Maruti Suzuki Victoris will feel much better in comparison. Maruti's petrol engine is nicer, drivability is better, and it is likely to be more fuel efficient, too.
If rear seat space is your priority, you could consider the Hyundai Creta 1.5 Petrol MT or Kia Seltos 1.5 Petrol instead, which are more spacious than the Victoris. Out of these, the Kia is newer and a touch more spacious than the Creta, hence it is the one that gets our vote.

I am a first-time car buyer. Although I have a driving licence, I am not very confident while driving, especially in city traffic and during parking. I am considering buying a used car first to gain confidence and then upgrading to a new one later. I feel more comfortable with an automatic transmission as it allows me to focus on steering and speed control. However, some people have advised me to learn from a manual first. I am almost 6 feet tall and was initially considering the Wagon R, but a few friends suggested the Ignis instead. I am confused about whether to buy a manual or an automatic and which car to choose. I am confident that I can drive an automatic hatchback better than a manual, even if I buy a new one. Please advise.

You are right - if you are not confident about driving, it is better to get a used car first to polish your skills and then graduate to a new car. Also, as you've correctly mentioned, get an automatic car instead, so that you can focus on steering and controlling the speed of the car, leaving you fewer processes to think about (pressing the clutch and changing gears).
Contrary to what your friends have suggested, get a Maruti Suzuki Wagon R. Sure, it might not feel like an aspirational buy due to its low-frills approach; however, it is hugely practical. Being a tall-boy design, it will be well-suited for your height, and its boxy structure will make it very easy for you to get a good judgment of its dimensions. Spare parts and maintenance costs will also be pocket-friendly.
Once you're comfortable with driving, you could upgrade to a newer, more expensive car. Also, being an in-demand car, this Maruti car will be easier to sell later and is likely to fetch a reasonable resale price.
