The MG Hector made its debut back in 2019, receiving a significant update for the 2023 model year. However, MG India is all set to unveil the 2026 Hector on December 15, 2025. While the brand has not divulged in-depth details yet, this will mark the second facelift for the MG Hector.
2026 MG Hector exterior
Facelift brings a revamped front fascia, but major changes elsewhere are unlikely.

The overall silhouette and design of the upcoming MG Hector facelift do not appear to have changed dramatically. However, the 2026 Hector gets a new chrome-garnished front grille that looks more premium and urbane over the outgoing car, while also featuring a better-integrated MG logo. The front-lower apron now has a redesigned skid plate, flanked by the vertically stacked LED headlights.

The design of these bumper-integrated headlights and the full-width LED tail-lights is likely to be carried over from the 2025 model, while a new set of dual-tone alloy wheels might debut with this facelift. There could also be a couple of new exterior colours on offer.
2026 MG Hector interior and features
Infotainment system likely to receive new features.
The interior of the 2026 MG Hector will not stray far from the current model’s general layout and design. However, the automaker could update the infotainment system with a couple of new features – the exact details of which remain under wraps at the moment.
Taking centre stage inside the Hector is a portrait-oriented, 14-inch touchscreen that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The facelifted Hector will also get powered and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, a voice assistant, and ambient LED lighting. The overall space on offer in the 5-seat (Hector) and 7-seat (Hector Plus) variants are also expected to remain unchanged.
2026 MG Hector powertrain
Current engine and transmission options to be carried forward.

Under the bonnet of the 2026 MG Hector will be the same turbo-petrol and turbo-diesel engines that do duty in the outgoing model. The 1.5-litre petrol mill produces 143hp and 250Nm, while the 2.0-litre diesel unit makes 170hp and 350Nm of torque. A 6-speed manual transmission is available with both engines, while the petrol variants also get a CVT option.
2026 MG Hector expected launch
While the updated MG Hector will be revealed on December 15, 2025, its official launch date is yet to be announced. The MG Hector (and Hector Plus) will rival cars like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Tata Harrier, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Mahindra XUV700, Hyundai Alcazar, and Tata Safari.
