I really love my Citroen C5 Aircross. The ride quality is beautiful, and the interior is lovely. It comfortably seats five and has a huge boot space, although the plastic quality could be better. The powerful engine and comfort level are the best in its class, making long rides enjoyable, but the engine can be a bit noisy. The design is attractive, and I appreciate that Citroen understands the need for full-size alloy spare wheels in India.

C5 Aircross is the best. Great choice, especially with discounts. Rare issues may arise, but I have experience with Fiat products, and they rarely need spares unless driven poorly.

This car offers unmatched ride quality, strong build quality, and strong performance. It looks great too. However, it's not doing well in India since it lacks many features, and no other car below 45 lakhs can match its refinement and engineering class. Service from PPS Motors Bangalore has been exceptional. It could have performed better if it was priced 7-8 lakhs less.

I am interested in the Citroen C5 Aircross and currently have an opportunity to buy a 2024/2025 model that is still unsold and available at a substantial discount. I am aware of the car’s strengths, which is why I am considering owning one. However, I have some concerns about long-term ownership. The new-generation C5 Aircross is already available in Europe, while the current-generation model sold in India has been discontinued. I am looking at keeping the car for 10 years or more, so my main concern is whether Citroen will be able to provide parts and after-sales support for the C5 Aircross over the long term, especially since it is a CKD model. Citroen already has a relatively small service network in India, and not all technicians may have experience working on the C5 Aircross. If parts are no longer available locally, will Citroen India be able to source them from France or other markets in the long term? I am willing to bear a higher cost for parts if necessary, but I would not want the car to eventually become unusable simply because essential parts are no longer available. I am quite confused about whether to go ahead with this purchase. I would appreciate your advice based on the current facts and Stellantis’ plans for Citroen in India, particularly regarding long-term parts availability and support for discontinued models.

If you love the Citroen C5 Aircross and are getting a substantial discount, it can still be a good buy, but your concerns are valid. Citroen is legally required to support the car with parts for at least 10 years after production ends, and more complex parts can be sourced from France, even if it takes time; however, since the C5 is an SKD model assembled in India, most wear-and-tear parts should be available here. The bigger issue is Citroen's limited service network and inconsistent technician expertise, which can make ownership frustrating if you are not near a strong dealership. You are prepared for the extra costs, but it will also require a bit more patience, but if you're prepared for that, the C5 Aircross remains a genuinely comfortable and refined SUV. If you are worried about long-term support, a more mainstream alternative like the new Kia Sorento may be the safer long-term ownership bet.

Is it an intelligent decision to go for a 2nd hand Citroen C5 Aircross diesel, a 2022 model that has run around 45,000 km and is available for Rs. 11 lakh, or should I go for a second-hand Toyota Fortuner, a 2019 model that has run around 98,000 km and is priced at Rs. 25 lakh? I am looking for good driving comfort as well as strong pickup. Which would be the better choice?

Go for the used Citroen C5 Aircross diesel at Rs 11 lakh. It is the better fit for your priorities. The C5 Aircross is one of the most comfortable SUVs in its segment, with a genuinely plush ride and a refined diesel engine that offers strong mid-range performance and good highway manners. At 45,000 km and as a 2022 model, it is still relatively fresh, and you are getting a lot of car for the money.The Toyota Fortuner is a different proposition altogether. It is a rugged, reliable workhorse with excellent resale value and a reputation for longevity, but at 98,000 km and Rs 25 lakh, you are paying a significant premium for that reliability. It is also not as comfortable or as refined as the C5 Aircross, especially on long drives. The ride is firmer, and while the engine is strong, the overall driving experience is more utilitarian than premium.If your priorities are driving comfort and good pickup, the C5 Aircross is the smarter choice. The only caveat is Citroen's smaller service network than Toyota's, so make sure you have a service centre reasonably close by. If you are looking for a long-term ownership proposition with minimal hassle, the Fortuner still makes sense, but for your requirements, the C5 Aircross is the more intelligent decision.

The Citroen C5 Aircross diesel automatic is worth it if your top priority is comfort and a calm drive. It rides over broken roads better than almost anything at this price, the seats are soft and supportive, and the diesel is quiet and smooth, so long trips feel easy. Space is good, the back seat is friendly for three, and the boot is big for airport runs or weekend bags.The catch is value. At this price, others give more showy features and tech. Also, the Citroen brand has a small dealer network, so ready service is available only in pockets. Further, the Citroen brand is not very strong at the moment, and this will impact resale value down the road.Also note, the diesel engine is best suited for longer runs. If your daily life includes rough roads and frequent highway trips, pay for the comfort. If you want rich features, badge pull, or mostly city use, the price feels high.

Your shortlisted cars vary widely in price and category, ranging from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 75 lakh, including ICE as well as electric cars, so it's hard to pinpoint exactly what you are shopping for. If you plan to do long trips, avoid an EV, as it is just not worth the hassle, given the current state of charging infrastructure.The Citroen C5 Aircross has astonishing ride quality, since that is your primary requirement, but bear in mind that dealerships are few and far between, and the model itself is now dated and due for a replacement.If you move to the upper end of your budget, consider the Audi Q5, which, though also a bit long in the tooth, has excellent ride quality and is an excellent value for money.Similarly, the Jeep Grand Cherokee is a full-size SUV with excellent ride quality, with prices from a segment below, and is also definitely worth check out.

Sadly, there are no longer any sedans available near the Rs 40 lakh mark, thanks to low demand and a shift in preference to SUVs, and it's unlikely any will launch in the coming years as well. In fact, the ₹30-40 lakh segment has effectively become a dead zone in the market.As for other body styles, you could look at two Stellantis SUVs - the Citroen C5 Aircross and the Jeep Meridian - which are very different takes on the premium SUV.The Citroen is more fun to drive and comfortable with a smooth diesel engine, soft seats and excellent suspension. The Jeep feels more rugged and upmarket with great off-road ability, should you need it, and a luxurious cabin with the option of a third row. You could stretch your budget a bit and get a Skoda Kodiaq, which is the closest thing you'll get to a Superb for the time being.
