Citroen C5 Aircross expert review
The C5 Aircross continues to stand out with its distinct French flair. The facelift brings a bolder double-chevron logo, redesigned grille with twin DRLs, and a new single-unit headlamp setup with layered casings. The redesigned front bumper features grey or blue highlights depending on the body colour. At the rear, tail-lamps now get LED elements. Its SUV-like presence is amplified by the concave bonnet, roof rails and new 18-inch dual-tone alloys.

The cabin retains its unique layout but now features a slick new 10-inch touchscreen. While it looks premium, it lacks wireless connectivity and a branded sound system. The centre console is more driver-friendly, featuring a new toggle-style gear selector and a rotary mode controller. Front seats are plush, though lumbar support might feel excessive. The flexible three-seat rear layout can be adjusted individually, but lacks comfort for two adults due to no central armrest and limited stretch-out space. Boot space is generous at 580 litres, with an electric tailgate and full-size spare.
7
Powered by a 177hp 2.0-litre diesel with an 8-speed automatic, the C5 is smooth and refined. Cabin insulation is excellent thanks to double-glazed windows, and performance is brisk (0-100kph in 9.61sec). Drive and traction modes are present, but differences between them are minimal. No petrol or AWD options limit its appeal.
8
Fuel efficiency stands at 10.3kpl (city) and 12.6kpl (highway), with potential for more on longer runs. The stop-start system works smoothly, though its early activation can feel abrupt.
8
The standout feature remains its ‘progressive hydraulic cushions’ that offer unmatched ride comfort, soaking up potholes with ease. It’s composed around corners but best enjoyed at a relaxed pace. The soft suspension and light steering make for a soothing drive.
9
While the C5 offers a large 12.3-inch digital cluster and retains physical shortcut buttons, it misses key features like ventilated seats, memory functions, and a 360-degree camera, which are available in much cheaper cars.
6
At Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom), the C5 is expensive for what it offers. While it delivers unbeatable ride comfort, strong diesel refinement, and distinct styling, its high price, limited features, and quirky rear seat layout hold it back. It’s a car that shines when experienced, but one that will remain a niche choice in India.
