Audi Q8

The Audi Q8’s proportions remain striking, with its coupe-like roofline, pronounced haunches and wide stance continuing to give it standout appeal among large luxury SUVs. 
At the front, the HD Matrix LED headlamps with laser light tech and selectable DRL signatures add sophistication. The signature octagonal grille gets chrome detailing, and there’s a 2D Audi logo. The Q8 is fitted with 21-inch alloy wheels. 
At the rear, it comes with full-width LED light bar. Overall, The Q8 is one of the best-looking SUV-coupes in its class.

The Q8 continues with its familiar three-screen layout. The upper 10.1-inch infotainment display is slick and responsive, while the lower touchscreen handles climate functions, though it requires more attention to operate on the move. 
Cabin quality remains a strong point, with premium materials and a solid build. Rear seat space is impressive for a coupe-SUV, offering generous legroom and usable headroom, along with adjustable backrest angles for added comfort. 
Boot space is also practical at 605 litres, expanding significantly when the rear seats are folded. Overall, the Q8 balances style with usability better than most coupe-style SUVs.

Powering the Q8 is a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-petrol engine producing 340hp and 500Nm, paired with an 8-speed automatic and Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive system. 
Performance is smooth and effortless. The engine delivers strong, linear power, with a claimed 0–100kph time of 5.6 seconds. It doesn’t feel aggressive unless pushed hard, but there’s always a reserve of power available.  Refinement is excellent. The engine remains quiet at city speeds, and both road and wind noise are well contained, making the Q8 a relaxed long-distance cruiser.

The real-world expectations for a large V6 petrol SUV sit in the single-digit to low double-digit kmpl range. Efficiency is clearly not the Q8’s priority, with performance, refinement and luxury taking precedence.

The Q8 prioritises comfort, and it shows in the way it drives. Though the updated Q8 switched to steel springs instead of air suspension, ride quality remains good, with the SUV smoothing out bumps effectively even on large wheels. Handling is composed rather than sporty. It maintains good body control and grip levels, aided by quattro all-wheel drive, but does not aim to be an engaging driver’s SUV. 
Overall, it delivers a calm and confidence-inspiring driving experience, particularly suited to long highway journeys.

The Q8 is well equipped with luxury features such as a Bang & Olufsen sound system, four-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting and 360-degree camera with manoeuvre assist. 
However, it misses out on some expected features at this price point. Notably, there is no full ADAS suite, no seat ventilation, and steering adjustment remains manual. While the feature list is comprehensive, these omissions stand out in a segment where rivals offer more advanced tech.

Priced at around Rs 1.15 crore (ex-showroom), the Q8 facelift sits in a niche space with limited direct competition in India. 
Its appeal lies in its design, refinement and all-round usability rather than outright performance or feature dominance. While it misses some modern tech, it compensates with strong road presence and a polished driving experience.
For buyers seeking a stylish, comfortable and distinctive luxury SUV, the Q8 continues to make a strong case.
