I currently drive a Land Rover Defender, which I absolutely love for its design and capability. That said, I’m starting to think about SUVs that offer a bit more performance and sporty driving dynamics. I’ve briefly considered the Porsche Cayenne, but I’m curious if there are other options that balance power, handling, and everyday usability. For someone coming from a Defender, what would you recommend?

As you've rightly said, the Porsche Cayenne is probably your best option. No other large SUV car handles as well as it does, and you get the option of two powerful turbo petrol engines - a 340hp V6 and a 500hp V8. However, if you're not concerned with having the Porsche badge, you should consider the Audi Q8, which is mechanically similar to this Porsche car, but comes in three performance levels. This Audi car is set up to be more comfortable and usable, and is far more affordable too.

At one end, there is the base V6 version, with the same 340hp engine, and at the other extreme is the 650hp, V8-powered RS Q8 Performance. However, Audi is about to launch the SQ8 - with the 500hp V8 - in India, and this could be the sweet spot between price and performance for you.

Currently, I own Maruti Suzuki Baleno Alpha 1.3 (2017) diesel that has crossed 12,000km and its current mileage is 14kpl in the city. Since your diesel Baleno is nearing 10 years, and you're being offered Rs 3-3.5 lakhs for it, it makes sense to sell it. Keeping your usage in mind, we'd recommend you to shortlist the Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG and the Mahindra XUV 3XO Diesel. Both these are very sensible, comfortable choices, and are likely to return strong efficiency. The Mahindra has an edge as far as performance goes. In summary, if you don't mind the long CNG queues at refilling pumps, the Brezza CNG will be an economical option, which is further backed by Maruti's widespread network. However, if you want a fill-it, shut-it, forget-in option the XUV 3XO diesel is a good choice.

Hello. I own a 2022 Tata Punch manual and have recently started facing severe cabin rattling while driving off-road and while reversing at low speeds. I have escalated the issue to Tata Motors' top management, but there has been no solution. I am now planning to upgrade to a 1.5-litre SUV. My average driving is around 100km per month. With just 100 km per month, fuel savings will be negligible, so a petrol car is the sensible choice. I currently drive a Grand i10 Manual petrol and am now planning to buy a new compact SUV that is comfortable, fuel efficient and has low maintenance. My usage is 35km of daily office commute in Delhi-NCR traffic. Please advice which option is best fit amongst Hyundai Venue HX 6T, SONET HTK+O and XUV 3XO.

Go for the Hyundai Venue. With your daily 35km commute in Delhi NCR traffic, comfort and low maintenance are key, and the Venue delivers on both. The 1.2 NA petrol is smooth, refined and easy to drive in stop-start conditions, while Hyundai’s service network and ownership experience are among the best in the segment. The HX6T variant also gives you a good balance of features without pushing the budget too far.The Sonet HTK+O is mechanically very similar, but the Venue is a newer model and offers a more spacious cabin. The XUV 3XO is also a good option, but its turbo petrol engine won't be as efficient as the Hyundai’s.Overall, the Venue is the most sensible upgrade from your Grand i10 for daily city use.
