The BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo sets out to offer near-7 Series space for a little more than 5 Series money. It’s an enticing option for buyers who intend to spend the majority of their time in transit on the back seat. The BMW 6 GT is available in in four-cylinder petrol, four-cylinder diesel and six-cylinder diesel options, and air suspension is standard across the range. It was given a facelift in 2021 and is a direct rival for the Mercedes Benz E Class.

The BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo is a large car and also stands out for its liftback rear end. Whether or not you like the shape, you’ll appreciate how roomy it makes the cabin feel. There is immense room at the back and you can really stretch out. The rear seat is not the most plush but the reclinable backrests do up the comfort quotient. Up front, its standard BMW fare. Quality is very good and BMW has packed in plenty of tech too. The 630i’s 258hp, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine gives the car athletic performance, and sounds quite nice as well. 6 Series diesel buyers, on the other hand, will be blown away by the 265hp, 3.0-litre straight-six engine’s might. The engine is not absolutely quiet but does make all the right noises. However, the 190hp, 2.0-litre diesel engine will do the job for most buyers. Air suspension is standard on the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo range and the setup offers a good balance between a cushy ride and pleasant handling. The big 6 is not the sharpest of BMWs but is nice to drive, nonetheless. The 2021 facelift has brought fresh looks and more tech, including a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen and laser-aided LED headlamps.
