The two-door version of the 3 series sedan, the 4 Series Coupe is only available in its top-rung M4 Competition guise in India. The new twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre, straight-six petrol engine, produces a class leading 510hp and 650Nm. The Coupe is also the first M4 offered with all-wheel drive as standard. It’s touted to reach 0-100 kph in just 3.5 seconds, with a maximum speed of 250kph.

The new M4 Competition is a surprisingly big departure from its predecessor, thanks to the huge jump in power, the move to a torque-converter auto and the inclusion of AWD. The design is bold and unapologetic, and you’ll either love it or hate it. The suspension and chassis are world-class, offering exceptional precision on turn-in, with plenty of grip and stability. The M4 comes across as a versatile and a brilliant performance car, better than its predecessor and rivals, but then it's far pricier too.
