Tata Motors revived an iconic nameplate by bringing back the Sierra after decades. The SUV has been developed on the new ARGOS platform, and it competes in the heavily contested midsize SUV segment. If you’re considering buying a Tata Sierra, here’s everything you need to know about the SUV, including its price, specs and features.
1. What is the Tata Sierra price in India?
Priced between Rs 11.49 lakh and Rs 21.29 lakh.
The Tata Sierra's price starts from Rs 11.49 lakh for the base Smart+ trim with a naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a manual transmission. The top-of-the-line Accomplished+ trim with a diesel-automatic is the most expensive configuration at Rs 21.29 lakh. The SUV is sold across seven trims: Smart+, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Adventure+, Accomplished, and Accomplished+.
2. What engine and transmission options does the Tata Sierra offer?
Sold with naturally aspirated petrol, turbo-petrol, and diesel engines.
The Sierra is available with a choice of three engine options: a 106hp, 145Nm, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine; a 160hp, 255Nm, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine; and a 118hp, 260Nm (280Nm in automatic) diesel engine. A 6-speed manual gearbox is available with the naturally aspirated petrol and the diesel engine. However, the turbo-petrol is only offered with a 6-speed torque converter automatic, which is also available with the diesel. The naturally aspirated petrol engine can also be paired with a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
3. Which colour options are on offer with the Tata Sierra?

The Sierra is available in six exterior colour options: Andaman Adventure, Bengal Rouge, Coorg Clouds, Munnar Mist, Pristine White and Pure Grey.

The Sierra features a boxy yet futuristic design overall. At the front are slim, connected LED DRLs and headlamps encased in black trim, which also forms the grille. The Tata emblem sits at the centre of the grille, with “Sierra” branding positioned just above it. LED fog lamps are located on the bumper, which also features a black finish along with a faux silver skid plate.

In profile, details include a thick B-pillar and a black painted section of the roof between the B- and C-pillars, which is a nod to the original Sierra. There’s also black cladding on the wheel arches and along the lower edges of the doors. Top trims of the Sierra come with 19-inch wheels finished in a two-tone design. Dimension-wise, the SUV is the tallest, widest, and has the longest wheelbase in its class.

The rear end of the Sierra is upright, with a slim LED light bar running the width of the tailgate. The bumper gets a black finish and a faux silver skid plate, and the tailgate blends into it.

The Sierra’s interior is among the best we’ve seen on a Tata. It is the only SUV in Tata’s line-up to feature a triple-screen setup. The layered two-tone dashboard boasts a modern design and premium leatherette inserts. The 4-spoke steering wheel is borrowed from the larger Harrier and Safari SUVs, and the overall fit and finish are great. It also gets a fairly large 450-litre boot.

The Sierra comes loaded with features, including a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, dual 12.3-inch screens for the infotainment and passenger display, a head-up display (available only with the two-screen setup), a powered driver’s seat, front seat ventilation, a panoramic sunroof, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12-speaker JBL sound system with a soundbar and Dolby Atmos support, a gesture-powered tailgate, manual “boss mode,” rear window sunshades, reclining rear seats, a wireless phone charger, and much more.

The Sierra competes in the popular midsize SUV segment, which includes the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara and Victoris, Toyota Hyryder, Kia Seltos, and Honda Elevate.
