I am a first-time driver planning to buy an MG Comet for city use. Are there any other small automatic/electric vehicles that would be better than the Comet?
The MG Comet is a good option for a first-time driver. It is easy to drive, has a spacious cabin, despite being a two-door, and the electric powertrain is smooth and silent enough.
However, the 2-doors mean the Comet is not the most practical option in its segment, the boot is small, and the small tyres mean the ride can get choppy. If this is important to you, you could consider the Tata Tiago EV. Otherwise the Comet will do just fine.
I want to buy a new car for around ₹20 lakh. My daily running will be about 80-90 km. I’m confused whether to buy a hybrid or an electric vehicle right now, as EVs sometimes face reliability issues. Please advise.
Considering your high daily running, an EV would be the better choice.
For roughly 90km every day, you need good comfort, features and a hassle-free experience with long range. The MG Windsor Essence Pro would be a good option to consider, as it has a large 52.9kWh battery pack with a range of over 400km on one charge.
What's also impressive, is the spacious cabin, comfy ride and the host of features. Opting for an electric SUV could be save you from a lot of uncertainties in the future around fuel mix, registration validity, etc., which might concern ICE vehicle owners.
With a budget of Rs 20 lakh, the most sensible and trouble-free EV option is an entry-level Hyundai Creta Electric. If you want space, features and a fully-loaded car, the MG Windsor EV is also a good option to consider.
The entry-level Mahindra BE 6 is a stand-out EV that also falls within your Rs 20 lakh budget.

I own a 2018 Ford Endeavour 3.2L 4x4 and absolutely love its ride quality and smoothness. I have driven it for 1.3 lakh km.
