After witnessing a steady fall in demand for almost a year now, Indian automobile manufacturers are banking heavily on the positive sentiments in the festive season to bring their sales charts back on track. In order to boost demand and push sales, many OEMs are refreshing their line-ups with new models and also offering attractive benefits on existing vehicles, and Volkswagen is no different.

The German automaker launched facelifts of the Polo and Vento just last month and is now offering huge discounts on the two models, in addition to the Ameo, for the month of October. Read on to find out how much you can save on a VW hatchback or sedan this festive season.

Volkswagen Vento

Save up to Rs 1.8 lakh
The Vento is VW’s take on a midsize sedan and as such, rivals the Skoda Rapid, Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. The 2019 facelift brought with it minor feature additions and changes to the exterior styling, along with the addition of a GT Line trim that gets some sporty cosmetic additions. To further improve its position in our market, the automaker is now offering the mid-spec Comfortline diesel trim at a special price of Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India) and discounts of up to a whopping Rs 1.8 lakh on the range-topping Highline Plus automatic variants.

The Vento can be had with three engine options – a 105hp, 1.6-litre petrol with a manual transmission, a 105hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol with a dual-clutch auto gearbox and a 110hp, 1.5-litre diesel which gets a choice of both manual and automatic transmissions. While the petrol variants get a 4 year/1,00,000km warranty, the model with oil-burner gets a commendable 5-year warranty as standard.

Volkswagen Ameo

Save up to Rs 1.47 lakh
As with its larger sibling, the Ameo compact sedan is also available with sizeable benefits this month, depending on model and available stocks. While the base Ameo Trendline trim with a petrol engine option is available with up to Rs 95,000 off, the top-end diesel Highline Plus automatic can be had with a cash discount and exchange bonus amounting to a considerable Rs 1.47 lakh.

The rival to the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and Ford Aspire gets a either a 76hp, 1.0-litre petrol engine or a 110hp, 1.5-litre diesel motor, under the hood. While a 5-speed manual gearbox is standard, the diesel also gets the option of a 7-speed dual-clutch auto transmission. The German automaker recently also added a GT Line trim to the line-up and updated the Ameo’s warranty to 4 years/1,00,000km for the petrol and 5 years for the diesel variants.

Volkswagen Polo

Save up to Rs 1.11 lakh
The VW Polo completed its 10-year sales milestone in our market this year and to keep the product fresh, the German carmaker updated the hatchback last month with a cosmetic makeover. To further boost demand, Volkswagen dealers are extending overall benefits to the tune of Rs 68,000 on the base petrol Trendline variant and discounts of up to Rs 1.11 lakh (including an exchange bonus) on select variants in rest of the range.

The Polo, which gets a warranty package in line with the Ameo and Vento sedans, competes with the Maruti Suzuki Swift and Ford Figo in our market. Powertrain options include a 76hp, 1.0-litre petrol, a 105hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine available in 90hp and 110hp states of tune.
