Trending Questions on Mahindra XUV 7XO - Answered by Autocar Experts
Hi Autocar Team, I am planning to replace my Honda BR-V CVT and have shortlisted the Kia Seltos CVT, Kia Seltos Turbo DCT, and Tata Sierra Turbo Petrol AT, all in top-end trims. My daily driving involves about 30km of bumper-to-bumper traffic in Mumbai, with around 7,500km driven annually, along with a couple of highway trips of about 400km each. The car will mostly be chauffeur-driven in the city, so rear-seat comfort is important. My budget is ₹25 lakh. Please suggest the most suitable option.
I’m confused between the Seltos Diesel HTK+ AT and the 7XO Diesel AT. Which one is better?
Without knowing your specific requirements, it is hard to give a definitive pick. Broadly speaking, however, the Mahindra XUV7XO diesel AT is the more powerful and exciting choice.
Its 2.2-litre diesel engine's 185hp and 450Nm are significantly higher than the Kia Seltos' 1.5-litre diesel's 115hp and 250Nm figures. The XUV 7XO diesel feels more effortless, especially on highway drives where the Seltos feels just adequate.
Both models do use smooth torque converter automatic transmissions, but it's the Mahindra car that is more responsive and quicker to shift to.
I have a family of 6 (Parents + Me + Spouse + 2 kids below 10 years. I currently use a 2013 Swift Dzire Diesel with 90,000km on the odometer. I am planning to buy an SUV within a budget of ₹18 lakh. Which SUV would be best, considering safety and mileage?
I have a family of four and am looking for a petrol automatic SUV, preferably with a DCT. My options include the Seltos, Sierra, Harrier and 7XO. My annual running is around 6,000km, so I do not want to overspend, but also do not want to compromise on features.
Hi, I am planning to buy an SUV for my family. My budget is around 22 lakhs. I would prefer safety and reliability and efficiency when making the purchase. I have considered sierra, seltos and xuv 700. Please help me decide which one to go for. This will be my first expensive car purchase.
The recently-launched Mahindra XUV 7XO is a good option to consider. It replaces the XUV700 and gets interior and exterior changes, along with more features. It is spacious, comfortable and has a strong set of engines.
The 2.0-litre petrol is smooth and refined, and the 2.2-litre diesel is punchy and relatively efficient. You also get the added practicality of a third row of seats, which the Kia Seltos and Tata Sierra don't get. Mahindra XUV 7XO price range from Rs 13.66 lakh to Rs 24.92 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
Hi team, I was waiting for the launch of the 7XO and was planning to go for the AX5 diesel variant, but after looking at the on‑road price I am now confused between the 7XO and the XEV 9S one pack above it. My main purpose is a 7‑seater family car with good mileage, as I like to go on trips with my family. I am not sure about electric cars due to charging infrastructure and battery replacement concerns.
Between the diesel Mahindra XUV 7XO and the electric XEV 9S, we think you would be better off with the XUV 7XO since your main purpose of the new car is to go on family trips.
Highway charging infrastructure is still developing, and quite a few times, existing chargers are either occupied or not operational.
Thus, if your trips are over 300 km long, you would need to stop and charge. This will ensure you can make it back or even have sufficient charge to drive around when you get to your destination.
Moreover, if these trips involve hill climbs, you will lose battery charge much faster. Conversely, the diesel Mahindra XUV7XO will be just right for these conditions. The torquey engine is powerful enough to tackle climbs, and with diesel being the fuel of choice, there will be no range anxiety.
I am considering the Tata Sierra, XUV 7XO, and the new Seltos 2.0. With a strict budget of ₹17 lakhs for a base variant and not being very tech‑savvy, I would like to know which would be the best option. Thank you!
With your budget set at Rs 17 lakh, we would advise you to go with the new Kia Seltos as it is a great all-rounder. Also, you would get a mid-spec car like the petrol manual HTK(O), which, besides the basics, would also get you a few niceties. The petrol engine is also a good performer, delivering a good blend of performance, refinement and efficiency.
The lower spec Tata Sierra, on the other hand, will come with the 1.5 litre naturally aspirated engine. It is a very sluggish performer, and while the Mahindra XUV 7XO will deliver on this front, it would not be as efficient as the Kia.
I want to buy a new car, preferably an SUV like the XUV700, Innova HyCross, Creta, Seltos or any other car with an ex-showroom price below Rs 25 lakh. I have been driving a Volkswagen Polo since 2011. Suggest which one to buy.
I am planning to upgrade my car, which is now 10 years old. My daily travel is within the city, with a couple of long highway drives. My budget is around ₹15 lakh. Kindly recommend a suitable car. I have shortlisted the XUV700, Seltos, and Sierra. Your expert opinion would be appreciated.
Hey Autocar, I am confused about the variant selection of the XUV 7XO launched on January 5th. I found the AX7 VFM variant attractive, but it lacks features like auto-dimming IRVM and an electronic parking brake. Now I am thinking of pushing my budget to purchase either the AX7 T or AX7 L diesel automatic. My doubt is whether to choose AWD or FWD with a ₹1 lakh difference. I have already pre-booked and now need to confirm the variant selection. Thank you.
The Mahindra XUV 7XO is a well-rounded product, and the AX7 T is the variant to choose as it offers all the premium features you would expect at this price point. You get a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, ventilated front seats, Level 2 ADAS, an electronic parking brake and much more.
As for whether you should opt for AWD, it really depends on your usage. If you live in the hills or regularly drive on challenging and slippery terrain, the AWD version can make sense. For most driving conditions, however, the Front Wheel Drive version will do just fine.
If your idea is to get into serious off-roading, the 7XO is not the best choice, even with AWD. For that kind of usage, the Mahindra Scorpio N or the Mahindra Thar Roxx, with higher ground clearance and a low-range gearbox, will be far more capable.
