The Mahindra XUV700 facelift will be called the XUV 7XO, the brand has revealed today. The Mahindra XUV 7XO, which will debut on January 5 next year, is the second model to follow the automaker’s newer nomenclature for its ICE models. The first one was the XUV 3XO, which was essentially the XUV300 facelift.

Mahindra XUV 7XO exterior design
Teaser shows design details that are similar to the XEV 9S

Along with the announcement of the XUV 7XO’s world premiere, Mahindra has teased a few exterior details of the facelift for its flagship ICE SUV. The XUV 7XO features 7-shaped daytime running lamps (DRLs) that frame the headlight cluster with trapezoidal LED light units; it is reminiscent of the recently launched XEV 9S but distinct, as are the tail-lights, which are also a variation of the XEV 9S’s. The grille has a new version of Mahindra’s iconic slatted design.

Recent XUV 7XO spy shots show that Mahindra has opted for minimal sheet-metal changes, and the XUV700’s silhouette will be retained for its facelift.
Mahindra XUV 7XO interior and features
Three-screen setup is likely

While there is very little confirmed about the XUV 7XO’s interior, we expect it to adopt a triple-screen setup similar to the one seen on the XEV 9e and 9S. It is likely that 6-seat and 7-seat versions will be available, though whether a 5-seat version will be offered is unknown.
Mahindra XUV 7XO engine and gearbox options
Expected to be the same as the XUV700

The XUV 7XO is expected to carry over the XUV700’s powertrain options – a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 2.2-litre diesel unit. Both come with 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox options, with the diesel also available with AWD.
Mahindra XUV 7XO price estimate and rivals
It will compete with the Tata Safari, MG Hector and Hyundai Alcazar
The XUV 7XO will have the same rivals as the XUV700 – Tata Sierra (a petrol version is due soon), MG Hector and Hyundai Alcazar. Considering that the XUV700’s prices range from Rs 13.66 lakh to Rs 23.71 lakh, the XUV 7XO is likely to cost a bit more.
