Diwali is almost here, and in a push for more sales, car makers have brought in attractive discounts across their models. Here are the cars with the highest discounts this Diwali in ascending order. The cars in this list include a range of SUVs, sedans and a hatchback from various brands.
15. Kia Sonet
Up to Rs 1.02 lakh off
Starting this list is the Sonet, one of Kia's subcompact SUV in its portfolio. Available in petrol, diesel and turbo-petrol engines with multiple transmission options, the SUV also comes with a wide range of variants and features on offer. Prices for the Sonet range from Rs 7.3 lakh and go all the way up to Rs 14 lakh. In fact, the Sonet is one of four Kia models getting the highest discounts this Diwali.
14. Maruti Suzuki Baleno
Up to Rs 1.05 lakh off
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno comes across as the only hatchback on this list, getting the highest discount in its segment. Sold via Maruti's Nexa outlets, the hatchback is offered with a 1.2 litre petrol or a CNG powertrain with either a manual or AMT gearbox (petrol only). The Baleno starts from Rs 5.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 9.10 lakh.
13. Honda City
Up to Rs 1.27 lakh off
The Honda City is one of the three mid-size sedans on this list. Powering the Honda sedan is a 1.5-litre VTEC petrol engine producing 121hp and 145Nm of torque available in manual and CVT automatic transmissions. There is also a hybrid option on offer, available solely with an e-CVT transmission. Prices for the sedan vary from Rs 11.95 lakh - 19.48 lakh.
12. Maruti Invicto
Up to Rs 1.4 lakh off
Sold as Maruti's version of the Toyota Innova Hycross, Maruti's most expensive car is on discount this Diwali. The Invicto comes solely with a 2.0 litre petrol strong hybrid engine producing 188hp and 206Nm of torque mated to an e-CVT transmission. The Invicto range begins from Rs 24.97 lakh and goes up to Rs 28.69 lakh.
11. Kia Carens Clavis
Up to Rs 1.41 lakh off
Marking its second entrant on this list, the Kia MPV comes with a petrol (113hp), turbo petrol (160hp) and diesel (115hp) powertrains with a choice of transmissions ranging from a manual, iMT, DCT and torque converter, depending on the variant you go for. Pricing for the Carens Clavis begins from Rs 11.07 lakh and goes up to Rs 20.71 lakh.
10. Kia Seltos
Up to Rs 1.47 lakh off
The Seltos mid-size SUV gets the same powertrain options as the Carens Clavis, but the Kia SUV gets a slightly higher discount this Diwali. Prices for the SUV range between Rs 10.79 lakh to the Rs Rs 19.8 lakh.
9. Volkswagen Virtus
Up to Rs 1.5 lakh off
Volkswagen's mid-size sedan, the Virtus, comes with a choice of 1.0-litre petrol and 1.5-litre turbo petrol engines producing 115hp and 150hp respectively, mated to either manual or automatic transmissions (torque converter for the NA petrol, DCT for the turbo petrol). The sedan is now getting discounts up to Rs 1.5 lakh with prices in the Rs 11.16 lakh - Rs 18.73 lakh range.
8. Honda Elevate
Up to Rs 1.51 lakh off
Honda's midsize SUV entrant comes solely with the petrol engine and transmission option shared with the City. Top models of the Honda Elevate get ADAS features. The Elevate's pricing starts from Rs 10.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 16.15 lakh.
7. Kia Syros
Up to Rs 1.6 lakh off
The Syros happens to get the highest discount in the compact SUV segment. Available with the same set of engines as the Sonet (except NA petrol), it also comes with a long features list including a segment-unique ventilated seat base for the rear seats. The Kia SUV pricing starts from Rs 9.82 lakh and goes up to Rs 15.93 lakh.
6. Volkswagen Taigun
Up to Rs 1.8 lakh off
With similar powertrains as the Virtus, the Taigun mid-size SUV gets substantially higher discounts over the sedan. Prices for the Volkswagen SUV begin from Rs 11.39 lakh and go up to Rs 19.14 lakh.
5. Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara
Up to Rs 1.8 lakh off
The Grand Vitara mid-size SUV comes with mild hybrid and strong hybrid offerings. While the mild hybrid comes with manual and automatic transmissions, the strong hybrid comes with an e-CVT. Prices begin from Rs 10.76 lakh and go up to Rs 19.57 lakh.
4. Skoda Slavia
Up to Rs 2.25 lakh off
The Skoda Slavia happens to be the mid-size sedan with the highest discount this Diwali. The Skoda sedan shares the same powertrains as the Virtus, Taigun and the Kushaq, and also comes in a sportier Monte Carlo edition. The Slavia is priced within the Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 17.69 lakh range.
3. Mahindra XUV400
Up to Rs 2.5 lakh off
The only electric vehicle on this list with a huge discount, the Mahindra XUV400, comes with a choice of either a 34.5kWh or a 39.5kWh battery pack with a claimed range of up to 375km and 456km, respectively. Prices for the Mahindra EV begin from Rs 15.49 lakh and go up to Rs 17.49 lakh.
2. Skoda Kushaq
Up to Rs 2.5 lakh off
Skoda's mid-size SUV gets a massive discount this Diwali. It also shares the same powertrains as the Slavia, Taigun, and Virtus and also comes with a Monte Carlo edition of its own. Prices for the Kushaq begin from Rs 10.61 lakh and go up to Rs 18.43 lakh.

Topping off the list is the Mahindra Marazzo powered by a 1.5 litre turbocharged 4 cylinder diesel engine, producing 120hp and 300Nm torque. The Mahindra MPV is priced from Rs 14.05 lakh and goes up to Rs 16.37 lakh, and comes with 7 or 8 seater options.
