Tata Motors is set to launch the entire Curvv line-up, including the EV, petrol, and diesel variants, on August 7. While details about the Curvv petrol and EV are already available, the diesel model will feature a dual-clutch automatic gearbox along with a standard manual transmission.

The Curvv diesel will come with the tried and tested 1.5-litre engine, shared with the Nexon. This is the first time that a mass-market SUV in India will get a diesel-DCT combination. However, this is not entirely new in India as more premium models like the Skoda Kodiaq and Superb have earlier been offered with this combo. Skoda and Volkswagen also offered the Rapid and Vento sedans, respectively, with this configuration. However, other diesel SUVs in the segment, the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, are both equipped with torque converter automatics.
