Hyundai launched its first-ever compact SUV – the Venue – in our market late last month. With the new launch, the carmaker hopes to take on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Tata Nexon and the recently launched Mahindra XUV300.

The Venue comes with three engine options which include a 90hp, 1.4-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine, an 83hp, 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated, four-cylinder petrol engine, and lastly a 120hp, 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine. On the gearbox front, the 1.2-litre petrol motor gets a 5-speed manual transmission, while the 1.4-litre diesel and the 1.0-litre petrol engines both get a 6-speed manual gearbox. The 1.0-litre petrol also gets the option of a 7-speed DCT automatic transmission.
