Kia Syros sales 74 percent of Sonet’s in Jan-Feb

    The Kia Syros is off to a decent start in the Indian market, with nearly 11,000 units of its second compact SUV being despatched to dealerships in two months. It sold 5,425 units in February and 5,546 units in January, totalling 10,971 units.

    The Syros’ 5,425 units in February make it the third bestselling Kia model after the Sonet compact SUV (7,598 units) and the Seltos midsize SUV (6,446 units) and ahead of the Carens MPV (5,318 units).

    The Syros is also Kia’s third bestselling model so far in 2025. Its tally of 10,971 units in January-February is 74 percent of the Sonet’s (14,792 units, 29 percent share of Kia sales), which is the brand’s top-selling car. In second place is the Seltos, with 12,916 units and a 26 percent share. The Syros’ contribution is 22 percent, and it is 131 units ahead of the Carens MPV (10,840 units, 22 percent share). 
     

    Kia India wholesale numbers increased 24 percent in February

    Kia India’s despatches in February rose 24 percent year on year (YoY) to 25,026 units, taking its total for the 11 months of April to February in FY2025 to 2,29,682 units, up 2.42 percent YoY.

    Seen in comparison to the despatches of its rivals, the Syros sits at the lower end of the compact SUV segment. Not only does its sibling, the Sonet, outsell the Syros, but so do both of Maruti’s compact SUVs – the Fronx and Brezza – along with the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV 3XO. Nonetheless, the Syros is ahead of the Skoda Kylaq, Nissan Magnite, Toyota Taisor and Renault Kiger.
