Hi, I am looking to replace my 2013 Dzire petrol with a bigger car, preferably an SUV. My average monthly running is low, around 1,000 km or less. We are a family of three, along with a dog, and we go on long trips once every month or two, usually under 1,000 km round-trip. Due to my transferable job, I am not keen on European brands with limited service networks. Please suggest suitable options among the Sierra, 7XO, and Harrier Petrol.
I want to get a car with a budget of 20 lakhs. Don't want it tobbe as big as my current Honda CR-V 2013. Should be comfortable for 5 people and give decent mileage for a city like Mumbai. What would be a good option for me amongst options like Tata Sierra, Mahindra Xuv700, Skoda Kylaq/Kushaq, Toyota Hyryder, Kia Seltos 2026 etc. Quite confused as to what will be a good balance of drivability and tech features and safety.
The best 5-seaters within a compact footprint are the Tata Sierra and the all-new Kia Seltos, mainly because of their spacious back seats which are good for three passengers.
The Sierra is a good mix of a city and highway car. But in your case, since you are mainly going to be commuting in Mumbai, the Seltos with the 1.5 petrol and CVT gearbox will be the best.

These two cars are very different, so it depends on your preference. The Citroen Basalt X is a natural upgrade from your Polo, offering fantastic ride and handling, a strong 1.2 turbo-petrol engine, and a pleasure to drive. However, compared to the Tata Sierra, the Basalt feels a couple of segments down.

Your daily driving of 15km a day does not justify opting for the Tata Sierra diesel, which isn’t as smooth or refined as the turbo petrol.
The Sierra 1.5 petrol is much nicer to drive, and though it won’t be as fuel efficient as the diesel, your minimal running won’t burn a hole in your pocket. The extra fuel cost will be compensated for by the Rs. 50,000 saving too.

The Sierra is not as engaging to drive as the Kushaq and Taigun, as it is heavier and has a relaxed power delivery.
