MG Hector Tomahawk PHEV price & variants
The MG Hector Tomahawk PHEV is available in Exclusive and Essence trims. Both of these trims are offered with a 1.5-litre petrol engine and a plug-in hybrid setup. Together, this powertrain offers a claimed range of over 1,100km.
Exclusive: We recommend the entry-spec Exclusive variant, as it offers plenty of modern-day features, such as a 12.8-inch touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate and a 360-degree camera. It also costs significantly less than the top-spec Essence, making it the more value-for-money Hector Tomahawk PHEV variant.
Essence: The range-topping trim features a larger 15.6-inch touchscreen, along with a 10-speaker Infinity sound system, rear window sunshades, V2L, V2V and V2H charging support, Level 2 ADAS, front parking sensors and more. Considering the list of additional features, the Essence trim is priced on the higher side.

MG Hector Tomahawk PHEV FAQs
The Hector Tomahawk is completely unrelated to the existing Hector. Also, the MG Hector Tomahawk is based on the brand's new ADAPT platform.
Available in a 7-seater configuration, the Hector Tomahawk PHEV finds itself in the company of the Mahindra XUV 7XO and Tata Safari.
There are four drive modes: EV (electric motor drives the wheels), series hybrid (engine recharges the battery, while electric motor drives the wheels), parallel hybrid (both engine and electric motor together drive the wheels for maximum performance) and engine direct drive (engine directly powers the wheels to minimise conversion losses for efficient highway driving). The powertrain automatically shuffles between all the modes, requiring no manual input from the driver.
Compared to the EV, the PHEV version gets a large functional grille with chrome elements, gloss black garnishes below the rectangular headlamps and a chunky bull bar-like silver trim piece on the bumper. The design for the 18-inch wheels also differs in comparison to the EV.
The MG Hector Tomahawk PHEV is currently on sale in the 7-seater guise only.
What makes the Tomahawk PHEV unique among its petrol and diesel-powered rivals is its powertrain. It is India’s first mainstream plug-in hybrid SUV, claimed to deliver over 115km of electric-only range and a combined fuel efficiency figure of over 40kpl. MG says the Tomahawk PHEV can cover over 1,100km with a full tank of fuel and a fully charged battery.
The MG Hector Tomahawk PHEV produces 198hp and 230Nm (combined outputs), while the EV version makes 204hp and 310Nm.
The MG Hector Tomahawk PHEV can be considered by those looking for a three-row SUV with a long list of features and a premium cabin. The PHEV has a claimed range of over 1,100km, making it worth considering for those who regularly cover long distances.
