With a yearly running of just 6,000km, petrol is the sensible choice, and the Hyundai Alcazar is a good option. It is a comfortable, easy-to-drive family SUV with a hassle-free ownership experience, and the 1.5 turbo petrol engine paired with the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic is powerful enough and relatively efficient too. Plus, since you're coming from a Creta, you'll be familiar with the Hyundai network and could even ask for a loyalty discount. However, the Alcazar’s third row is not as spacious as some larger cars in the segment, so if you genuinely need a proper 7-seater, it may not be the ideal solution. Get the Tata Harrier. Since long trips and basic off-roading are on your agenda, it will perform much better than the MG Hector. On highways, its ride feels more composed, and it remains more stable at higher cruising speeds. Besides multiple drive modes, the Harrier also gets terrain modes for loose surfaces, which adjust the power delivery and braking to improve traction. Compared to the MG car, you will sacrifice some rear-seat space, but that doesn't mean the Harrier is uncomfortable. Overall, it is the better choice for your intended usage.

The Kia Seltos IVT is the best pick for your needs. Its slick gearbox delivers a very smooth experience in typical city driving, and there's enough performance for your 300km highway runs. The Seltos also feels plush, offers good ride comfort and is roomy inside. It also packs in plenty of tech, so the car won't feel outdated even over a long ownership period. Kias are reliable, and service support is generally very good.An EV would be smoother still in city driving, but few of the options within your budget would deliver a comfortable 300km on a single charge for your highway drives. The Tata Nexon EV and MG WIndsor Pro with the big battery options are worth a look.
