Kia Sonet price in Dhenkanal

₹8.34 - ₹16.56 Lakh
On road price in
EMI starting at ₹12,067 /month

On-road in Dhenkanal, the base model Petrol 1.2 HTE starts at 8.34 lakh and the top model Diesel 1.5 GTX+ AT reaches 16.56 lakh. The Diesel 1.5 HTK+ sits between the two at 12.25 lakh.

If you are financing the car, a loan of 7,50,000 on the base model Petrol 1.2 HTE means an EMI of 12,067 a month. Stepping up to the top model Diesel 1.5 GTX+ AT raises that to 23,973 on a loan of 14,90,000.

Why prices change from the base model to the top model:

  • This range carries three engines and four gearbox types, which is more choice than any rival here and the main reason the price spread is wide.

  • The diesel costs more than either petrol, and the 1.0-litre turbo sits above the 1.2-litre.

  • Four gearboxes means four different price points for the same engine in some cases.

  • The two 10.25-inch screens, the Bose sound system and the ventilated front seats arrive higher up the range.

  • The driver assistance features and the 360-degree camera are reserved for the upper variants.

Registration, road tax and insurance are added to the ex-showroom figure, and how much they add depends on the state you buy in. That is why the same variant costs more in one city than another.

Kia Sonet FAQs

The Kia Sonet Diesel 1.5 HTX AT is the best value-for-money variant in the lineup. It combines strong diesel performance, smooth automatic convenience, and premium features like ventilated seats, sunroof, and cruise control. It offers an ideal balance of comfort, efficiency, and pricing for most compact SUV buyers.

If outright performance with the ease of an automatic matters to you, then you should pick the DCT-equipped Kia Sonet. However, this gearbox can be clunky and slow to respond, particularly at low revs.

I want to buy a diesel automatic car, and my monthly running is around 700–1,000 km. I am considering the Mahindra XUV 3XO, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet and Kia Seltos, with a budget of Rs 13 lakh to Rs 15 lakh. Should I wait for the new Sonet, as I have heard that the facelift could be launched in the next 2–3 months? Please suggest which one would be suitable for my requirements. I mainly need practical features for everyday use.

With a monthly running of 700-1,000km, a diesel automatic is still a sensible choice, especially if you do a mix of city and highway driving. The Kia Sonet diesel automatic is a strong contender. It uses the same 1.5-litre diesel engine as the Seltos and is paired with a torque converter automatic, making it a very refined and efficient package. The Sonet is also well-equipped and has a premium feel inside. A new-generation Sonet is due, but a timeline is not clear, with our estimate being around mid-2027.The Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV 3XO are good value options, but their AMT gearboxes are not as smooth as the torque converter automatics in the Kia. The Kia Seltos diesel automatic is a great car, but it will exceed your budget by quite some margin. Instead, consider the Kia Syros diesel auto if you want more interior room than the Sonet.Overall, the Sonet diesel automatic is the best fit for your requirements.

Hi Team, good day. I currently own a Tata Altroz petrol manual and am planning to change my car due to its poor mileage and low power. I am considering two options: the Maruti Suzuki Brezza VXi CNG and the Kia Sonet HTK(O) diesel manual, mainly for better mileage. My daily running is around 80km, with 20km in the city and 60km on the highway, about 4–5 days a week. I also travel to my hometown once every three months, covering around 800km on a round trip. Which of these two would be better suited to my usage? If CNG is the better option, can the Brezza be driven only on CNG for better mileage? Will regular CNG usage cause premature damage to the engine head or cylinder bore? I would also like to know about the service requirements and long-term reliability of both options. Additionally, will diesel-related restrictions or norms be implemented in Chennai as well? Please guide me on which car would be more suitable for my usage and whether these two are good choices.

With 80km a day and a mix of city and highway driving, the Kia Sonet diesel manual is the better fit. The diesel engine will give you strong fuel efficiency on the highway, good pulling power for overtakes and a more relaxed driving experience at higher speeds. The Sonet is also a more powerful and enjoyable car to drive than the Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG, which will feel underpowered on highways and during overtakes.CNG is best suited to city-heavy usage where fuel savings are maximised. On highways, the savings are not as significant, and refuelling with CNG also requires a bit of planning. You can run the car mostly on CNG, but it is recommended to run on petrol occasionally to keep the fuel system healthy. Modern factory-fitted CNG systems are reliable, and there are no widespread issues with head or bore damage when used as intended.Go for the Sonet diesel manual. It will give you the best balance of power, efficiency and long-term suitability for your usage.

I am planning to buy the Kia Sonet and would like to know which variant would be the best option. I am particularly looking for a variant with a smooth automatic transmission that does not feel jerky while driving.

Go for the Kia Sonet 1.2 petrol with the manual gearbox. It is the smoothest and most jerk-free option in the range. The 1.2 naturally aspirated petrol engine is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, which is very easy to drive in the city and delivers a smooth, linear power delivery without any sudden surges or hesitation. This makes it ideal for stop-start traffic and everyday commuting. If you specifically want an automatic, the 1.5 diesel with the 6-speed torque converter automatic is the better choice. The torque converter is a traditional automatic gearbox and is much smoother than the 7-speed DCT offered with the 1.0 turbo petrol. The DCT can feel a bit jerky at low speeds, especially in bumper-to-bumper traffic, whereas the torque converter diesel is far more refined and predictable. The 1.2 petrol manual is the best choice if you want a smooth, hassle-free driving experience. The 1.5 diesel automatic is the best automatic option if you want a smooth gearbox and do not mind paying a premium for the diesel engine.

I am upgrading from a Brezza diesel and am looking for a car under Rs 15 lakh for a daily run of 30km+ and occasional mountain trips. I am currently confused between the Skoda Kylaq and Kia Sonet diesel, and am more inclined towards the Kylaq. However, I have read reviews mentioning mileage of under 5kpl in the mountains and concerns about low-end torque. I am also moving from a diesel car and am worried about E20 fuel. My priorities are that the car should not feel underpowered, while also offering good features, comfort and fuel efficiency of 10kpl or more. Which one should I choose?

Go for the Skoda Kylaq 1.0 TSI automatic. Your usage pattern of 30km+ daily running with occasional mountain trips makes the Skoda Kylaq a better fit than the Kia Sonet diesel. The 1.0 TSI engine is a proven unit with a strong mid-range, and the 6-speed torque converter automatic is well-suited to both city driving and mountain roads. The concerns about high fuel consumption in the mountains are exaggerated. Any car will see a drop in fuel efficiency on steep climbs, but the Skoda will still deliver reasonable figures, and the overall ownership experience is strong. Coming from a diesel car, you will notice a difference in low-end torque, but the turbo petrol compensates well once on boost, and the gearbox is responsive enough for mountain driving. On E20, there is no need to worry, as modern engines are engineered to handle E20.

I live in Bangalore and have to commute to the office daily. I leave home at around 7:00 AM and log out at 3:30 PM from office. My average daily driving is about 50 km, mostly within the city, and I take an occasional highway trip about once a month. My budget is Rs. 15-16 lakh, and I'm looking for the most suitable vehicle considering reliability, driving comfort, fuel efficiency, maintenance costs, and long-term ownership. So far, I've shortlisted Kia Sonet HTX Diesel (concerned about DPF issues due to my city driving), Skoda Kushaq Signature Plus AT, Tata Nexon Creative+ PS Camo DCA and Mahindra XUV 3XO AX5L. Based on my usage pattern, which of these would you recommend, and are there any other better options within my budget?

Based on your usage pattern of 50 km daily city driving with only occasional highway trips, the Kia Sonet diesel is not the best fit. Modern diesel engines with DPF systems are not ideally suited to predominantly urban driving, and while the Sonet is a good car, it is not worth the potential hassle given your usage. The Skoda Kushaq Signature Plus AT is a better option if you enjoy driving, but it is a segment up on the others, which means it will exceed your budget. The Kylaq is the direct rival to the others on your list, but its rear seat can feel a bit tight. The Tata Nexon Creative+ PS Camo DCA is a solid all-rounder with good safety credentials, but the DCA gearbox won't feel as smooth as the torque converter on the XUV 3XO.The Mahindra XUV 3XO AX5L is therefore the recommendation here. It has a premium and spacious cabin, a strong feature set, good safety credentials and a comfortable ride, making it well suited to daily city commuting. The turbo-petrol engine is also punchy and the 6-speed automatic is very smooth. If you are open to alternatives, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza automatic is also worth considering for its reliability, fuel efficiency, low maintenance costs and proven ownership experience, but it lacks the performance of the 3XO.
