Kia Seltos price in Dhenkanal

My new Kia Seltos DCT 2026 rolled forward on a slightly inclined surface even after shifting to neutral. It has also happened once on a flatter surface. Is this normal?

If your Kia Seltos rolled forward after you shifted to Neutral, that by itself is not a fault. In Neutral, the gearbox is disengaged, so even a slight incline can cause the car to roll unless the brake pedal or parking brake is applied. That is normal behaviour.The only nuance is with DCTs, even when in Drive mode on slopes. Unlike a torque converter automatic, a DCT can allow a slight rollback or roll forward on gradients before the clutch fully engages, which is normal for this type of gearbox. The best way to handle this is to keep the auto hold function activated, as it keeps the brakes applied when the car is stationary and only releases them once you get on the throttle, preventing any unintended movement.

The Kia Seltos 1.5 petrol IVT is a spacious 5-seater midsize SUV. It is well-equipped with modern feels, has a high quality interior, and a smooth and refined powertrain. Its ride doesn't feel as comfortable, or it doesn't feel as tough as a Tata Sierra, which is also a good option to consider. However, you will have to extend your budget slightly to buy the turbo-petrol automatic version of the Sierra - the 1.5 NA petrol-DCA is simply too slow for highway use.

Can I get the first service of my new Kia Seltos 2026 Petrol IVT done at around 1,200 km instead of the recommended interval? I need to travel approximately 950 km one way, and my current odometer reading is around 240 km. I have already booked the service appointment at my destination city. Would delaying the first service until then cause any issues with the car or warranty?

Yes, you can do the first service at around 1,200 km. For the Kia Seltos, the first visit is due at about 1 month or around 1,000 km, whichever comes first. A small overshoot of 200-300 km should be fine and does not affect warranty, as long as you get it done at an authorised Kia workshop and within a reasonable time window. Since the engine is still in the running-in period, keep speeds moderate, but try not to hold one speed for very long and avoid hard acceleration or heavy braking. That helps a new engine settle in well.

I’m on the hunt for a car with a budget of around ₹20 lakh ex-showroom. I’m open to stretching the budget a bit if I find a truly amazing car or one with cutting-edge tech. Right now, I hold a R-Pass booking for the Duster Hybrid. I took the Duster 1.3L DCT for a spin and absolutely loved the driving feel and the engine. The front cabin was also quite nice. However, my family felt the rear was very cramped and congested. I don’t want people sitting in the rear complaining about my car space. It’s usually just my wife and me travelling; my family rarely joins us for long trips. So, we’re still deciding whether to stick with the hybrid or explore other options because of the cramped space at the rear. Also, if they launch it at ₹ 24-25 L, starting it would be overpriced for the quality it offers. I also test-drove a Seltos Diesel Automatic. Everyone enjoyed it equally. The only thing it didn’t quite have was the performance of the VW or Duster 1.3. But overall, it’s a good, stable car with good comfort and a smooth drive, the best overall. I’m a bit worried about the ethanol blending updates without proper planning by the government, and how it will affect our petrol cars, as the maximum supported blending is E20. Diesel feels safer, especially since staying in Mumbai, I can do weekly or bi-weekly highway trips through the Atal-Setu/Palm Beach Road to get the right amount of highway running to avoid DPF issues. I don’t have a home charger for an EV for at least a year until I shift into our new apartment, so I’m not sure if I should consider them. Also, there aren’t any reliable EVs within my budget except for the Hyundai Creta EV. It’s a nice car, but it feels a bit outdated and isn’t rated as safe as a 5-star vehicle. Staying away from Tata cars. Any suggestions welcome

Coming to the first part of your question, you mentioned that you loved the driving experience of the Renault Duster 1.3 Turbo DCT, you are planning to skip it because your family wasn't happy with the space at the back. We would strongly advise you to reconsider.Yes, space is tighter than most rivals in this class, and ingress/egress (for rear passengers) is a bit difficult, but if you're rarely going to have passengers at the back, it shouldn't be a deal-breaker for you. If you really enjoyed the drive experience, it is certainly worth going for. The turbo-DCT isn't very fuel efficient, but keep in mind that the hybrid is likely to command a significant premium over it, so unless your usage is over 1500km per month, it is worth opting for the turbo-petrol DCT.The Kia Seltos is an excellent all-rounder, when it comes to space, comfort, interior quality and it is one that checks all the right boxes, however unlike the Duster, it lacks that emotional appeal, so it won't tug at your heartstrings. If you go for it, you won't go wrong with it.Your concern of whether the petrol engine will be capable of handling higher Ethanol blend is valid, so opting for an EV could be an option, but be prepared to pay a premium for an electric powertrain. As far as the Hyundai Creta Electric goes, yes, it does feel a bit old compared to the modern offerings, however it is an excellent car - one that we easily recommend.

You want a diesel automatic, and you’re leaning toward the Tata Nexon Fearless+. For mostly city use with some weekend drives, the Nexon diesel automatic works well and costs a lot less than a Hyundai Creta or Kia Seltos diesel automatic. However, being an AMT, the Nexon's automatic transmission will feel slow and a bit jerky, especially in slow traffic, compared to a proper torque converter automatic. Considering these factors, you should also take a look at the Hyundai Venue 1.5 diesel AT HX8. It's priced similarly to the Nexon but comes with a more refined diesel engine and a smoother automatic in the form of a 6-speed torque converter. The Hyundai's cabin also feels more premium than the Tata and its backed by Hyundai's widespread service network throughout India.

Considering your usage, we would skip the hybrid and go for either the Seltos IVT or the Creta IVT, with a slight lean toward the Kia Seltos. At your kind of running, the fuel savings from the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder strong hybrid will take a very long time to justify the higher upfront cost, so buying it purely for efficiency does not make much sense.The Seltos IVT feels more premium and richer overall as an upgrade from a 14-year-old Honda City. The cabin feels more contemporary, the IVT automatic is exceptionally smooth in traffic, and the overall driving experience is effortless in daily city use. It also feels a bit more special inside than the Hyryder.The Hyundai Creta is equally good mechanically and rides slightly softer over rough roads, so if comfort is your absolute top priority, it remains a very strong option too.The Hyryder hybrid only really starts making stronger sense if you specifically want the silent EV like feel in traffic and intend to keep the car for a very long time. Otherwise, for your usage pattern, the Seltos IVT is the sweeter all-around package.

Your observations are quite right, and given your requirements, the Kia Seltos diesel automatic seems to be the best fit. It takes care of your ethanol worry because diesel avoids that issue entirely, and your regular highway trips will keep the diesel particulate filter (DPF) healthy. Your family already likes its comfort and smooth, steady feel, and on the highway, it has strong enough pull for quick passes. As you have noted, it won’t feel as eager as the Renault Duster or the VW turbo petrols when you floor it, and the 1.5 diesel - though refined amongst rivals - is a bit louder than a petrol overall. Also, higher tech features come on costlier trims, so a top-spec trim could push that Rs 22 lakh limit on the on-road price.If driving fun is the top priority and you rarely use the back seat, the Renault Duster 1.3 turbo automatic still makes sense over the hybrid, which is as yet untested, but will likely sacrifice some punchiness given its naturally aspirated Atkinson-cycle petrol engine. If the hybrid lands around Rs 24-25 lakh, it may not add enough value for your use. As for the rear seat, the Duster doesn't offer as much as rivals despite its grown dimensions (it seems to have gone into the boot), and the hybrid's battery could even hamper this further. Overall, for your requirements, the Seltos diesel auto still feels the better choice.

Your running is simply too low for a modern diesel to make sense, and repeated low usage can create DPF-related headaches over time.Between your options, the Hyundai Creta petrol automatic or Kia Seltos petrol automatic are the much smarter choices. If we had to pick one, we would lean toward the Seltos IVT because it feels slightly more premium inside, and the IVT automatic is exceptionally smooth in daily use. I have a budget of Rs. 25-30 lakh. I currently own a 2025 MG Windsor EV and a 2022 Kia Seltos GTX+ Diesel AT. Since getting the EV, my running with the Seltos has reduced significantly. Its extended warranty will expire in August 2027. I am now planning to replace the Seltos with either the new Kia Seltos Turbo Petrol or the Hyundai Alcazar Turbo Petrol. The biggest advantage of Hyundai Alcazar in your use case is the captain seat configuration. Since you are a family of four, it can actually work beautifully as a comfortable four seater, with the second row offering noticeably better individual comfort than the Seltos. With the third row folded down, you also get a genuinely large boot, which makes it a very practical long distance family car.That said, the new Seltos feels like the more premium and more contemporary product overall. It is larger and more spacious than the Seltos you currently own, the cabin feels richer, the ride is comfortable and because it is the newer product, it will naturally feel fresher for longer. Importantly, both the Alcazar and the Seltos use the same 1.5 turbo petrol engine paired to a DCT, so outright performance and drivetrain character are broadly similar.The real question is what role this second ICE car will play. If it is primarily a comfortable family tourer and rear seat comfort matters most, the Alcazar makes a very strong case. But if you want something that feels like more premium, modern without stepping into a larger three row SUV format, the new Seltos is the better fit.

The trade-off is space: the boot will take a big dog, but dog plus large suitcases may be tight.
