I am getting the Venue HX8 Turbo automatic for Rs. 15.40 lakh on-road, the Creta SX(O) automatic for Rs. 18.14 lakh on-road, with a discount of more than Rs. 1 lakh, and the Seltos HTK(O) IVT for Rs. 18.50 lakh on-road. My budget is Rs. 19 lakh. Which one should I buy for driving in Bangalore and occasional trips?

Look for a torque converter...best for bangalore traffic, and trips. The new brezza might work out. U will find that some features sold by kia or hyundai might not be as everyday use as consistent performance

I test-drove both the Kia Seltos GTX(A) IVT and the Hyundai Creta N10 Turbo DCT. For some reason, the Creta felt more balanced over rough roads and was also quieter. I initially wanted to purchase the HTX(A) Turbo DCT, but it wasn't available for a test drive. Now, I'm confused about two things: Seltos vs Creta and manual vs DCT. Around 60-70% of my driving will be in the city, but I still want a punchy engine. Having driven manual cars for years, I've always enjoyed them and am comfortable with them. However, considering the advancements in automatic transmissions in 2026 and the fact that I plan to keep the car for 7-8 years, a DCT seems like a convenient option. I'm now unsure which combination would be the right choice for my needs. What would you recommend?

Go for the Kia Seltos HTX(A) Turbo DCT as it strikes the best balance for your needs. The turbo petrol engine is punchy and enjoyable, while the DCT makes city driving far less tiring than a manual. I am considering the XUV 7XO AX7T/L. However, given the several videos people post online, covering everything from software glitches to even sunroof leaks, do you think it will offer a seamless ownership experience? I have been considering the Seltos as a second option, and I don't see many people raising deal-breaking issues like these. I am very confused right now.

The Mahindra XUV 7XO is a fundamentally well-engineered car with strong engines, a comfortable ride and a spacious cabin. The software glitches and sunroof leaks you see online are not widespread issues, and Mahindra has been proactive in addressing them through software updates and warranty support. The Kia Seltos is the safer, more polished choice with a more consistent ownership experience, but the XUV 7XO offers more space and stronger performance.That said, if you are the kind of buyer who will lose sleep over the occasional niggle, the Kia car mentioned above is the safer bet. But if you want the more capable and more spacious car, the XUV 7XO is the better choice.

I am looking for car suggestions around the Rs 20 lakh price bracket, but I am happy to increase my budget. I want a comfortable family car that is also fun to drive while offering good mileage. I had booked the Seltos Turbo DCT, but I am now worried about its mileage and future running costs if my running increases. My current running is around 1,000 km a month in the city, but with the car, I plan to do long-distance trips of around 600-700 km every three to four months. Should I consider an EV or wait for the Seltos Hybrid? I dropped the Hyryder from my list because I did not like its interior.

For your current 1,000 km monthly running, occasional 600-700 km trips and preference for a comfortable family car that still feels enjoyable to drive, the Kia Seltos 1.5 NA IVT is the better choice than the Turbo DCT. It is smoother in city traffic, more relaxed to drive and should have lower running costs over the long term. You give up some outright performance, but for predominantly city use, the NA engine is the more sensible match.The Seltos Turbo DCT is certainly more fun, but its real-world city efficiency is around 9-10kpl. If running increases substantially in the future, the fuel bill will become a bigger consideration. An electric car would bring much lower running costs, but with your relatively modest daily usage and occasional long trips, there is no compelling need to switch to an EV unless home charging is convenient and you are comfortable planning longer journeys around charging.The Seltos hybrid is worth waiting for only if there is no urgency to buy, since the hybrid is expected in 2027 and pricing and specifications are not yet confirmed.

I am confused between Creta SX IVT and Elevate CVT for 8000 km of annual running with long trips of 1200 km 3-4 times in a year for a family of 4. Apart from this, day to day usage is less than 100km per month. I am looking for a car for long term ownership and travel comfort.

The Creta SX IVT is the better fit for your requirement. It offers a quieter, more refined cabin, comfortable rear seats and a smoother CVT, which are particularly valuable when spending several hours on the highway with four people and luggage. Autocar's long term experience with the Creta petrol IVT also found it refined, comfortable and particularly well suited to road trips.The Honda Elevate CVT has advantages of its own. Its 220mm ground clearance, long travel suspension and large 458-litre boot make it particularly good on poor roads, while its naturally aspirated 1.5-litre engine and CVT make for a relatively simple powertrain. However, the cabin is noticeably noisier, particularly when accelerating hard, and the CVT can produce the typical rubber band effect.
