Outgoing Kia Seltos available with discounts of Rs 1.6 lakh

Kia has unveiled the new-generation Seltos in India, with the launch scheduled for January 2, 2026. Compared to the old Seltos, the new model is slightly bigger, gets an all-new exterior and interior design and packs in some additional features as well. That said, public consensus on the internet regarding the new model's exterior design is not very positive.

If you are looking for a Seltos, some stock of the outgoing model is still available at some dealerships, with discounts of around Rs 1.60 lakh. So, should you consider the old model when the new Seltos is just around the corner? Let us find out.

Outgoing Kia Seltos: Powertrain options

Gets a choice between a nat-asp petrol, a turbo-petrol and a diesel engine

The old Kia Seltos is available with three engine options. These include a 115hp, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 160hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 116hp,1.5-litre diesel engine. All these options are available with manual and automatic choices. Notably, Kia is continuing with the same set of powertrains on the new Kia Seltos, so getting the old-generation model will not make any difference in this regard.

Outgoing Kia Seltos: What it misses out on?

Loses out on bigger displays and has slightly smaller dimensions

The new Seltos is built on a new K3 platform, and it has become 95mm longer, 30mm wider, and has an 80mm longer wheelbase than the old model. The increased dimensions have enabled a better cabin space and a 13-litre bigger boot. However, the old model's 433-litre boot space is comparable to other midsize SUVs.

The new Seltos gets bigger screens compared to the dual 10.25-inch displays of the old model. The outgoing Seltos, however, is well-equipped with a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, an 8-way powered driver’s seat, an 8-speaker Bose sound system and a wireless phone charger. It misses out on a slightly better 10-way electrically adjustable driver's seat that also has a memory function.

On the safety front, the only difference is that the new Seltos gets an enhanced Level 2+ ADAS, which enables leading vehicle departure alert, front collision avoidance assist on direct oncoming traffic and junctions and parking collision avoidance assist, all of which are missing on the old model. The rest of the safety suite is the same, with 6 airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake, TPMS and dual dashcams.

Outgoing Kia Seltos: Should you consider it?

Old model is similarly kitted, has massive discounts and no waiting period

The Seltos has been one of the most popular Kia products in India since its inception in 2019. As seen with other newer Kia products, the Seltos is expected to have some waiting period when it is launched on January 2, 2026. It is also likely that Kia will price it at a slight premium over the outgoing model.

The trade-offs with the older Seltos are the bigger screens, an updated ADAS suite and a slightly better cabin and boot space. But the old model, while having a well-equipped convenience and safety suite, does not have any waiting period and has a lower price. It also carries discounts of around Rs 1.6 lakh, with further negotiations expected to offer a better deal. So, despite being an older-generation model, the outgoing Seltos still comes out to be a viable option over the new car.
