The Honda Elevate (2023-2026) uses one engine across the whole range, so the specification story is about what that engine does rather than which one to pick. The 1498cc petrol makes 121hp at 6,600rpm and 145Nm of pulling power at 4,300rpm. Both figures arrive high in the rev range, which is why our review found it short of pull when pushed hard.

Key facts for the Elevate (2023-2026):

  • Gearboxes are a 6-speed manual and a 7-step CVT automatic.

  • The car measures 4,312mm long, 1,790mm wide and 1,650mm tall.

  • Boot space is 458 litres with 60:40 split rear seats, which is one of the largest in this class.

  • Six airbags are fitted.

  • Our testing recorded 10.8 seconds from 0 to 100kph and a top speed of 161kph.

  • Honda Sensing driver assistance covers collision mitigation, lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control.

  • Our review found cabin insulation the weak point, with engine noise at higher revs and road noise present throughout.

Amongst three, Honda Elevate is the best from every side.

As an owner and extensive user of the Honda Elevate, I can recommend it for its greater visibility. The CVT is great for city traffic, and on the highway, it offers a subtle drive. It's not a car to push more and more.

I would suggest the Honda Elevate. It's the most reliable and practical car with no nonsense. Initially, Korean cars may seem more comfortable and luxurious, but when their gimmick features start to glitch, you may regret it.

I would recommend Elevate if it's your first car. It should be hassle-free and offer peace of mind, unlike Kushaq or any Nissan.

Highly advisable to test drive the Honda Elevate as steering lightness varies.

Despite being a fan of Honda's engine, I found the seat comfort lacking in the Elevate. I couldn't find a comfortable position in any seat, which was disappointing.

I have been using the Honda Elevate for 3 years now and have covered 47,000 kms. If you are looking at mileage per day, it's lesser as I get 11/12 km/l since it's automatic. But if you are a peaceful driver, you will get the most out of it.

The ideal car if you want to see it running for 10 years without a problem, it is fun to drive, comfortable to ride and no hassle to maintain

Driving experience was never an issue, everything is better and more reliable than the Koreans and Germans. The only shortcoming is Honda itself, because of poor marketing and a lack of new products.

The Honda Elevate hardly crosses the 12 km/l bar. Though the steering of Honda Elevate is fluidic, the overall usage and driving feedback is not as good as Toyota.

Hi everyone, I am looking for a reliable automatic upgrade for my parents. My budget is strictly capped at Rs. 17 lakh (on-road, Hyderabad). The lower, the better. I will be selling our 2019 Ford Figo Titanium petrol manual. Our use case & priorities: Primary drivers: My parents Usage: We live on the outskirts, so the car will see mixed usage, mostly in mild traffic. Priorities: Low maintenance, low running costs, and a hassle-free, smooth driving experience. Shortlisted options: Honda Amaze ZXi CVT, Honda Elevate V CVT, Maruti Brezza ZXi AT, maybe Mahindra XUV 3XO

With your requirement of keeping the purchase cost as low as possible while also getting something reliable, go for the Honda Amaze CVT. The CVT is smooth, the car is easy to drive, and Honda’s ownership experience is among the best in the segment. It will also be the most affordable option on your shortlist, which fits your budget constraint perfectly. It should be more than sufficient for your parents and their usage, but bear in mind, it's not much larger than the Figo they're moving from, so it may not feel like as much of an upgrade. Also, make sure entering and exiting the vehicle are not an issue for them, as it is quite low-slung.The Elevate CVT is the largest vehicle here, and as such gives a bit more space and comfort than the others, and it meets your other requirements, but if you're locked in on the V CVT variant, it might feel a bit barebones. The V CVT is well within your Rs 17 lakh budget, so consider going up a variant, as that would make it worth your while. The Maruti Suzuki Brezza, however, might be your best bet. The ZXi AT is great value for money; efficiency and hassle-free ownership are Maruti hallmarks, and the 6-speed AT gearbox is as smooth, if not smoother, than Honda's CVT. It's compact enough to be easy to drive, yet almost as spacious as the Elevate, with easy ingress and egress. We feel this will be the best fit for your parents.

I am 6 feet 3 inches tall and I’ve been struggling to fit in a car in which I can sit comfortably without the steering wheel hitting my knees. I drove a Tata Zest for 11 years and have recently sold it. With a tight budget of Rs. 18 - 20 lakh (on-road) , I need a good car for my everyday office drive with good fuel efficiency. I drive around 20 km up and down everyday mostly within the city. Please suggest a good car that I can try out.

At 6ft 3in, your first priority should be finding a car with a genuinely comfortable driving position, rather than choosing purely on features or fuel economy. The Honda Elevate is one of the cars worth trying first because it has excellent driver ergonomics, a spacious pedal box and a wide range of seat adjustment. The 1.5 petrol CVT is smooth and well suited to a short daily commute, while the Elevate has a comfortable ride and 220mm of ground clearance. The Kia Seltos 1.5 petrol IVT is another option, with a spacious cabin and comfortable ride, although taller drivers may find the front seat thigh support a little short.Given your specific problem with the steering wheel hitting your knees, do not buy any car without spending at least 15 to 20 minutes in the driver's seat. Set the seat properly, adjust the steering for reach and height, and check that you can fully depress the pedals without your knees coming close to the steering wheel.

Hello, this is Dilip. I’m planning to buy my first car for myself and my parents. I’m 30 years old and am looking for a car under Rs. 20 lakh, preferably with a manual transmission, that offers excellent long-term reliability, low maintenance and ownership costs as well as good safety and build quality. I need a car comfortable for my parents and family with a good driving experience in both city traffic and highways. It should offer good mileage and overall practicality. Suggest me a car that I can confidently keep for 8-10 years. Please suggest the best options based on these requirements and explain both pros and cons of each car.

Go for the Honda Elevate manual. It is the most sensible choice for your requirements. Honda’s naturally aspirated petrol engine is proven, reliable and efficient, and the manual gearbox is smooth and easy to use in both city traffic and on highways. The Elevate is also comfortable for family use, with a spacious cabin and a well-balanced ride, and Honda’s ownership experience is among the best in the segment. It is a car you can confidently keep for 8-10 years without worrying about major reliability or maintenance issues. If you want a slightly more premium feel and a bit more space, the Kia Seltos petrol manual is a good alternative. It offers a more feature-rich cabin and a more premium overall experience, but it is also more expensive and does not offer a significant reliability advantage over the Elevate. Alternatively, consider the Maruti Suzuki Victoris petrol manual. Its powertrain is smooth and efficient and Maruti’s service network is unmatched. Overall, the Honda Elevate manual strikes the best balance between reliability, comfort, safety, driving experience and long-term ownership confidence.

Which automatic SUV car is best for new driver who does not have much confidence? Is CVT transmission will be good in such case and does it come with a light steering. I am planning to buy Honda elevate CVT but it is bit lengthier. Is the steering of Honda elevate light enough for traffic?

Verified

The Honda Elevate CVT is actually a very good choice for a new driver who is not very confident. The CVT automatic is extremely smooth and easy to drive, with no perceptible gear changes, which makes it very forgiving in stop-start traffic. The steering is also light at low speeds, making it easy to manoeuvre in tight spaces and heavy traffic. The only concern you have is the length, but the Elevate is not excessively long for its segment and visibility is good, so it should not be a major issue once you get used to the car.If you are still concerned about size, you could consider the Maruti Suzuki Brezza automatic. It is more compact, has light steering and is very easy to drive in the city. Overall, the Elevate CVT remains a strong recommendation. It is easy to drive, reliable and confidence-inspiring. If size is a major concern, the Brezza auto is the best alternative.

Hi, I have booked the current Honda Elevate V CVT for Rs 15 lakh on-road. Is it a good deal? Should I wait for the new facelift? I have also seen reports of poor NVH in the Elevate. Is there any way to reduce road and tyre noise inside the current Elevate's cabin?

Verified

Yes, the Honda Elevate V CVT at Rs 15 lakh on-road is a good deal. The Elevate is a well-rounded SUV with Honda’s reputation for reliability, a smooth CVT and a comfortable ownership experience. The V variant is well-equipped, and the price you have secured is competitive. On the facelift, Honda will launch the updated Elevate on October 6th, but do not expect a major overhaul. It will likely be a mild update with some feature additions and minor cosmetic tweaks. The core mechanical package will remain unchanged. If you need the car now, there is no strong reason to wait.On NVH, the Elevate does let in more road and tyre noise than some rivals. You can reduce it to some extent with better tyres (look for softer compound, lower noise-rated tyres) and aftermarket damping on the doors and wheel wells. However, do not expect a dramatic transformation. It will help, but the Elevate is not the quietest car in the segment to begin with.Overall, if you like this Honda car and the deal, go ahead.
