Citroen Aircross
The Citroen Aircross is the French brand’s bet in India’s super competitive midsize SUV segment. The Citroen Aircross price in India starts at ₹8.89 lakh and goes up ₹14.37 lakh, (ex-showroom). At this price point, the Aircross rivals the other midsize SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Maruti Grand Vitara, Duster, Tata Sierra and Tata Curvv, among others. What’s really unique about the Aircross is that it is the only SUV in its segment that offers the option of a 7-seat configuration, while all other rivals are 5-seaters only.
The Citroen Aircross is available in 7 variants. It is powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that offered in both naturally aspirated and turbocharged guises. In naturally aspirated guise, the engine produces 82hp and 115Nm, and is offered with a 5-speed MT gearbox. In turbocharged guise, it produces 110hp and 190Nm (205Nm with AT) and is offered with either a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
On the equipment front, the Aircross X Turbo Petrol Max 7 Seat AT comes equipped LED daytime running lamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, auto engine start/stop, connected car tech, cruise control, leatherette upholstery, ventilated seats, ambient lighting, Cara digital assistant (AT only) and optional 360-degree camera.
As standard, all variants of the Citroen SUV come with six airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, electronic stability control, a tyre-pressure monitoring system and hill-hold assist.

- The Aircross is positioned in the extremely crowded midsize SUV segment where it rivals the Hyundai Creta, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and Honda Elevate.
- The Aircross has a 5-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP with 27.05 out of 32 points in adult occupant protection (AOP) and 40 out of 49 in child occupant protection (COP).
- The Aircross is the only SUV in its segment to offer the option of 7-seats on the X Turbo Petrol Max 7 Seat AT trim, which are also removable and can be stowed away when not in use.
- In our fuel efficiency test, the real world Citroen Aircross mileage was rated at 9.76kpl in the city and 14.04kpl on the highway with the manual gearbox. As for the automatic, it was slightly less efficient, managing 9.46kpl in the city and 13.62kpl on the highway.
- The Citroen Aircross has a generous ground clearance of 200mm which is sufficient for Indian roads. It also has a cavernous boot that offers between 444-litres and 839-litres of space, depending on the seating configuration.
- Citroen Aircross gets dual-tone colour options only on the X Turbo Petrol Max 7 Seat AT trim for an additional premium.
- The Aicross was originally launched as the C3 Aircross in India. It was later renamed as just the Aircross, and then again as the Aircross X.
