Upcoming cars in October

September saw the launch of cars like the Maruti Victoris, Citroen Basalt X, Volvo EX30 and Vinfast VF6 and VF7. Revised GST rates also came into effect last month, resulting in significant reductions in ex-showroom car prices. That, along with festive offers and discounts, can boost car sales. Read on to find out which models are slated for a launch this month.

Mini Countryman JCW ALL4

October 14

Mini Cooper JCW

Both online and offline bookings of the Mini Countryman JCW ALL4 have been underway since September 22. The high-performance variant of the Mini SUV features a 300hp, 2-litre turbo-petrol engine, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) that sends drive to all four wheels. The Mini Countryman JCW ALL4 completes the 0-100kph sprint in 5.4 seconds.

New Skoda Octavia RS

October 17

Skoda Octavia RS

Online pre-bookings for the 2025 Skoda Octavia RS will commence on October 6. Just 100 units are allocated to India, and deliveries will start on November 6. The India-spec Octavia RS will be powered by a 265hp, 2-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with a 7-speed DCT channelling power to the front wheels. The claimed 0-100kph time is 6.4 seconds, and the top speed is 250kph.

Citroen Aircross X

October

Citroen aircross x

Bookings of the Citroen Aircross X have been underway since September 16. Citroen earlier rolled out the ‘X’ updates to the C3 and Basalt, and much like them, the suffix denotes a variant rejig for the Aircross, new features on the top-spec trim and a more accessible pricing overall. Any mechanical changes are unlikely. The entry-level Aircross X trims may continue with the 82hp, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the higher trims could retain the 110hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol unit, offered with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

SUV specialist Mahindra, to make the most of the festive season, could also announce prices for some of its facelifted models this month. These include:

Under the hood, the Thar facelift will retain the current model’s engine options, which include a 152hp, 2-litre turbo-petrol, a 119hp, 1.5-litre turbo-diesel and a 132hp, 2.2-litre turbo-diesel. A 6-speed manual gearbox will be standard for all engines, with the petrol and 2.2-litre diesel motors additionally offering a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

The standard Bolero comes with a 76hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Bolero Neo has a 100hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Lastly, the Bolero Neo+ packs a 120hp, 2.2-litre diesel engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Any mechanical changes to these SUVs are unlikely.
