Tata Motors has launched the Punch CNG at a starting price of Rs 7.10 lakh, going up to Rs 9.68 lakh for the top-spec variant (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Punch CNG is available in three trims – Pure, Adventure and Accomplished – with the latter two also getting the optional packages as is offered with the regular Punch. Tata Punch CNG powertrain details

The Punch CNG comes with the same 1.2-litre, three-cylinder engine that sees duty in the petrol-powered Punch. This engine produces 86hp and 113Nm of torque with petrol, and with CNG, it churns out 73.4hp and 103Nm of peak torque, and is offered only with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Like other models in the carmaker's CNG line-up, the Punch can also be started directly in CNG mode, a feature not offered by Maruti or Hyundai.

The Punch CNG features Tata Motors' dual-cylinder setup that we have already seen on the Altroz CNG. Essentially, a large 60-litre tank has been split equally into two smaller tanks, and has been positioned under the boot floor to free up storage. The Punch CNG has a boot capacity of 210 litres which is 156 litres less than the petrol-powered Punch.

Tata Punch CNG exterior, interior, features

The Punch CNG sees no exterior design changes, apart from the addition of the ‘iCNG’ badge on the tailgate, like on the other Tata CNG models. Likewise, there aren’t any notable changes on the interior of the Punch CNG either.

In the top-spec trim, the Punch CNG comes equipped with features such as a 7.0-inch touchscreen and digital driver's display, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, 16-inch alloy wheels, an engine start/stop button, automatic climate control, automatic projector headlamps, a height-adjustable driver's seat and even a sunroof, the last of which has now also been introduced on the petrol-powered Punch as well.

The Punch CNG is squarely aimed at the recently launched Hyundai Exter, which came with a CNG powertrain right from launch. For reference, the latter is priced between Rs 8.24 lakh-8.97 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
