The Skoda Kodiaq now has a new entry-level variant, called Lounge, which slots below the Sportline and Selection L&K variants and comes with 5 seats instead of 7. The Kodiaq Lounge is priced at Rs 39.99 lakh, and it gets some exterior and interior changes, along with fewer features than the higher trims, though it is mechanically unchanged.

Skoda Kodiaq Lounge exterior differences

Kodiaq Lounge only available in 3 exterior colours

On the outside, the major change is that the Kodiaq Lounge gets 18-inch Mazeno alloy wheels. Further, the entry-level 5-seat variant gets just 3 exterior colour options – Moon White, Magic Black and Graphite Grey. The Sportline and Selection L&K variants additionally get Race Blue and Velvet Red options, Steel Grey is unique to the mid-spec variant, and Bronx Gold is only available on the range-topper.

Skoda Kodiaq Lounge interior and feature differences

5-seat Kodiaq has a 786-litre boot

Other than the lack of the third row of seats – which sees boot space increase from 281 litres to 786 litres – the interior of the Kodiaq Lounge is finished in a grey and faux-suede and fabric upholstery, and there’s a two-spoke steering wheel instead of the three-spoke one seen on the higher variants. While the safety kit is the same as the higher-spec Sportline and Selection L&K variants, the Lounge misses out on select features such as gesture control for the powered tailgate and a 360-degree camera. Also, instead of the 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen on higher trims, it has a smaller 10.4-inch one and a 100W 9-speaker sound system compared to a 725W 13-speaker Canton sound system on higher variants.

Skoda Kodiaq Lounge engine and gearbox

5-seater Kodiaq has the same 204hp turbo-petrol engine as the rest of the range

The Kodiaq Lounge has the same 204hp, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine as the other two variants. The 4-cylinder unit is paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, which sends power to all four wheels.
