Honda Hornet 2.0
The Honda Hornet 2.0 is a sporty street motorcycle aimed at riders who want more performance and equipment than a typical 160cc commuter. It is available in a single Standard variant and uses a 184.4cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine with a 5-speed gearbox. The bike gets golden USD front forks, a monoshock rear suspension, 17-inch alloy wheels and dual-channel ABS. It produces 17hp, with the engine tuned to offer strong mid-range performance while remaining manageable in everyday riding.
Our review at Autocar India describes the bike as refined and nimble, with smooth fueling, a light 5-speed gearbox and quick changes of direction. However, its suspension is on the firmer side, so broken roads and sharp speed breakers can be felt more than on softer motorcycles. The 12-litre fuel tank and 790mm seat height also make it practical for regular city use.
Who should buy the Hornet 2.0?
The Honda Hornet 2.0 is mainly aimed at riders who want a sporty motorcycle for daily use, with more performance, safety equipment and premium hardware than a conventional commuter.

Safety-Focused Buyer | Dual-channel ABS, Honda Selectable Torque Control, hazard lights and a side-stand engine cut-off add safety equipment that is useful for both city and highway riding. |
Weekend Rider | The 12-litre fuel tank, 5-speed gearbox, comfortable riding posture and 168mm ground clearance make the Hornet 2.0 suitable for occasional longer rides, although the firm suspension and compact pillion seat can limit comfort on rough roads. |
Autocar India's review points to its firmer suspension and notes that the engine prioritises refinement and usable performance rather than outright acceleration.

Honda Hornet 2.0 Expert Review
7.0
The Honda Hornet 2.0 is designed for riders who want a sporty motorcycle without moving into the 200cc performance segment. It gets an aggressive LED headlamp, muscular fuel tank, sharp tank extensions and an engine cowl that give it a larger road presence. The gold-coloured upside-down front suspension adds to its premium appearance. The paint quality, panel fit and switchgear reflect Honda's usual standards. The motorcycle uses a 12-litre fuel tank, which keeps the proportions compact without affecting practicality. Buyers looking for a streetfighter with premium fit and finish will appreciate the overall quality.
8.0
The Honda Hornet 2.0 offers an upright riding position that suits daily commuting and weekend rides. The 790mm seat height is accessible for most riders, while the 142kg kerb weight makes the motorcycle easy to handle in traffic and while parking. The wide handlebar provides good leverage during slow-speed riding. The seat offers enough room for the rider but feels firm on longer journeys. Pillion comfort is average because of the compact rear seat. Riders who spend most of their time in the city will find the ergonomics comfortable, while frequent highway riders may want better seat cushioning.
8.0
The Honda Hornet 2.0 is powered by a 184.4cc air-cooled, fuel-injected engine that produces 17hp and 15.7Nm. The engine feels smooth across the rev range and keeps vibrations low during city riding and highway cruising. The 5-speed gearbox shifts cleanly, while the assist and slipper clutch reduces effort in stop-and-go traffic. The motorcycle delivers an official fuel efficiency of 42.3kmpl. Its 12-litre fuel tank offers a riding range of around 500km under ideal conditions. The engine performs best in city traffic. Riders looking for stronger highway acceleration may find it less powerful than some 200cc rivals.
7.0
The Honda Hornet 2.0 feels light and easy to ride through traffic. The 142kg kerb weight, 1,356mm wheelbase and 110-section front and 140-section rear tyres help the motorcycle change direction quickly while remaining stable at higher speeds. The upside-down front suspension improves front-end feel during braking and cornering. The suspension is tuned on the firmer side. Broken roads, potholes and sharp speed breakers are felt more than on motorcycles with a softer setup. The 276mm front and 220mm rear disc brakes, supported by dual-channel ABS, provide confident stopping performance.
7.0
The Honda Hornet 2.0 features include full-LED lighting, a fully digital instrument console, Honda Selectable Torque Control (traction control), an assist and slipper clutch, dual-channel ABS, a side-stand engine cut-off and hazard lights. Questions you may find useful
I currently ride a 2017 Honda CB Hornet 160R Special Edition and often face gear shifting issues while downshifting in traffic that remain unresolved. I want to upgrade my bike with a budget of around ₹2 lakhs on-road in Delhi. My daily run is about 50 km with a highway and city mix, and I want mileage of 40 km/l or more. I prefer bikes with a muscular, bulky tank and overall bulky appearance. I have shortlisted the MT-15, NX200, Hornet 2.0, Hunter, and Ronin. Kindly suggest.
Since you have owned a Honda motorcycle in the past, sticking with the brand and getting the Hornet 2.0 and NX200 will make sense. Both are decently peppy, refined, comfortable and fuel-efficient machines which should be reliable in the long run. The Yamaha MT-15 will be the lightest machine on your list, and it is likely to also be the most fuel-efficient. Despite its small engine, it does offer a good level of performance. You should also take a look at the XSR155 because this is a more spacious motorcycle while being mechanically very similiar to the MT.The TVS Ronin and Royal Enfield Hunter 350 will have the most comfort and will be different to ride than the other bikes owing to their relaxed engines. Do bear in mind that you are unlikely to see a fuel economy figure of 40kpl unless you ride very sedately on either of them. Since the machines you have shortlisted are very diverse, we'd recommend a test ride of all before you make a decision.
I’m planning to buy an entry-level adventure bike, mostly for my 30 km daily commute in Pune, along with weekend rides of more than 200 km once or twice a month. I’m confused between the Honda NX200 and the TVS Apache RTX 300. I’m 45 years old and 5 ft 9 in tall. I’ve had lumbar problems in the past, but I’m fine now. Which one would you recommend?
If you are looking for a comfortable ADV motorcycle, the TVS Apache RTX and Hero Xpulse 210 should be on your radar in this price range. The Honda NX200 is a dressed-up Hornet 2.0 and, aside from its look, isn't a 'proper' adventure bike. Both the RTX & the Xpulse are capable, comfortable and quick motorcycles, with the latter being the easier of the two to ride and manage - given that both have a tall 835mm seat height. However, the RTX has the better road manners and the far superior feature set. Take a test ride of both before you make your decision. It would also be prudent to wait for the Honda XR300 Rally, which should be available in a BigWing showroom near you in a few months' time.
Is Bajaj Pulsar 220F a good choice for daily commute of 50km?
In isolation, the Bajaj Pulsar 220F is a proven workhorse with a punchy engine, comfortable rider's traingle position and good highway stability, which makes it well-suited for longer daily runs. It is also relatively affordable to maintain and has a wide service network, which is important for a high-mileage commuter. That said, the 220F is now nearly 2 decades old and has only seen regulatory and minor feature-related updates since. It does not offer the refinement or modern features of newer-generation bikes in the segment. If your commute is mostly highway and you don't mind the old-school feel of the 220F, it can make sense for you. However, if you are looking for a more modern package with better refinement, consider Bajaj's own Pulsar N250, the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V or Honda Hornet 2.0 as similiarly-priced and comparable alternatives. Try to take a test ride of all four before you make your decision to see where your preferences lie.
Is the Honda Hornet 2.0 better than the Bajaj Pulsar N160? I'm confused about which one to buy.
Both the Honda Hornet 2.0 and Bajaj Pulsar N160 have similar performance and fuel economy in the real world, so picking between the two will boil down to which bike's design, comfort, features and overall ownership experience you prefer. The N160 is also considerably more affordable than the Hornet, and, at the Hornet's price, you could even consider the larger Pulsar N250.However, Honda bikes are generally known for their hassle-free ownership experience with bulletproof long-term reliability and low maintenance costs. Bajaj's ownership costs, too, are quite frugal, but service can be a point of friction.Take test rides of both bikes and also speak to your nearest authorised dealer and service center for both brands before you make your decision.
