After the recent GST rate cut for motorcycles and scooters below 350cc, Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India has announced that it will pass on the complete benefit to customers.

  1. Honda Activa gets affordable by Rs 7,874
  2. Honda Shine 100 gets benefits worth 5,672
  3. The brand is evaluating the impact of higher GST on bikes above 350cc

The CB350 range gets affordable by up to Rs 19,000

CB350 enjoys the highest benefit of Rs 18,887

The Government of India recently slashed the GST on motorcycles below 350cc, and since the majority of Honda’s portfolio falls under this bracket, the brand has decided to pass on the benefit to customers.

Starting with Honda’s bread-and-butter model, the Activa, this scooter consistently keeps the Honda brand name among the top three contenders every month, owing to its strong sales. The Activa now enjoys benefits of up to Rs 7,874. Its youth-centric sibling, the Dio 110, receives slightly lower benefits of up to Rs 7,157. Meanwhile, the Activa 125 offers higher benefits of up to Rs 8,259. Its counterpart, the Dio 125, gets a marginally lower benefit of Rs 8,042.

Moving on to motorcycles, the Shine 100 and Shine 100 DX benefit by Rs 5,672 and Rs 6,256, respectively. The recently launched CB125 Hornet receives a reduction of Rs 9,229 on its sticker price. Meanwhile, the Hornet 2.0 and NX200 enjoy benefits of up to Rs 13,026 and Rs 13,978, respectively.

The CB350 range offers the highest savings: the CB350 (Rs 18,887), CB350 H’ness (Rs 18,598), and CB350RS (Rs 18,857).

Honda notes that this GST reduction comes at a crucial time – right before the festive season. The brand expects it to draw a significant number of first-time buyers into showrooms, thereby boosting sales and increasing overall two-wheeler penetration. At the same time, Honda is also assessing the impact of the increased tax rate on motorcycles above 350cc, which will affect most of its BigWing line-up, barring the CB350 range.
