Trending Questions on Mahindra XUV 3XO - Answered by Autocar Experts
I want to buy a diesel-powered compact SUV with an automatic transmission and good mileage. My budget is about โน12 lakhs, and one of the options I am considering is the Tata Nexon Diesel AMT. Kindly suggest.
The Tata Nexon is a good option to consider. The 1.5-litre diesel engine is quite efficient, and the AMT gearbox is smooth enough for city use. The Nexon is also a very safe car, with a 5-star Global NCAP rating.
What is also segment-best on the Nexon is the ride comfort. The suspension is tuned well for our roads, and it feels confident over bad patches. The feature list is extensive too, with ventilated seats, sunroof, a large and high-resolution touchscreen and a 360-degree camera.
Another car you can consider is the Mahindra XUV 3XO. The diesel engine is very strong and more refined, and the AMT gearbox is smooth. The XUV 3XO is also very safe, with a 5-star Global NCAP rating. The rear seat is more spacious than the Nexon's, but the boot is smaller.
However, out of the two, it is a nicer SUV to drive, but not as good in terms of fuel efficiency. If the economy is the top priority, the Nexon is the one to go for.
I own a 2016 Hyundai Creta diesel and a 2025 Carens Clavis diesel. It is now time to replace the Creta. Please suggest a good 5-seater, excluding Hyundai and Kia. I want a petrol automatic with all the latest features. My budget is โน15 lakhs.
I sold my swift . And now looking for family car (4 person) . I am a police officer, posting in different terrains ( mountain, plains) uttrakhand, office work via highway. Want a diesel engine car on the budget of 10 -12 lac .
The car you can consider is the Mahindra XUV 3XO. Its diesel powertrain is one of the smoothest and most refined in the segment, performs well, offers a plush low speed ride, and feels planted at higher speeds. It has also secured a 5 star crash test rating.
The MX3 variant should fit within your budget. While it isnโt the most feature rich trim, it does get a decent level of equipment and doesnโt feel bare bones.
Hey I want to buy a family car which is spacious for atleast 5 peoples and comfortable even for long trips. My budget is around 12-13 lakhs. I want a car which is reliable, low maintenance cost and most importantly safe.
The ideal car for your requirement is the Maruti Suzuki Brezza. Thanks to its wide rear seat, five adults can sit in good comfort, and the ride quality is comfortable enough even for long journeys. It is a proven product and, being a Maruti Suzuki, you can expect low maintenance costs and reliable ownership.
There are, however, two caveats. The Brezza facelift is expected very soon, so it may make sense to wait if you are not in a hurry. Also, the current generation of the Brezza has not been crash tested yet, while the previous generation was tested by Global NCAP and had scored a four star rating.
If you want to buy a car immediately, the Mahindra 3XO is another strong option. It comes with a more powerful turbo petrol engine that delivers effortless performance even with a full load. Its wider body makes it one of the best five seater options in the segment. It has also scored a full five star rating in the Bharat NCAP crash tests.
Within your budget, you can opt for the REVX A variant of the 3XO or the ZXi variant of the Brezza.
I am planning to buy a new car after driving my 2022 Hyundai Grand i10 Nios for about 30,000 km in 4 years. My budget is around โน12-14 lakhs. My usage pattern will be: - 80% city driving - 20% highway driving - One outstation trip roughly once every 3 months I am considering the Mahindra XUV 3XO AX5 Diesel( due to its minimal electronics). Even though my annual running is not very high, I would like to experience a punchy diesel car before diesel options reduce further in the future. Other reasons are due to its spacious back seat and white color interior. I would like expert advice on the following: 1. With 80% city usage, how likely am I to face DPF related issues 2. Does this engine require any precautions to avoid DPF clogging? 3. Will low and mostly city usage lead to higher maintenance or major repairs in the long term? 4. What is the real-world maintenance cost and reliability of Mahindraโs 1.5-litre diesel engine over time? 5. Since I plan to keep the car for at least 10โ12 years, how well do Mahindra vehicles age in terms of: engine and drivetrain durability electronics and features, interior quality and long-term fit and finish ? Overall, would the XUV 3XO diesel be a sensible long-term ownership choice for my usage pattern.
With predominantly city driving, DPF issues on the Mahindra 3XO diesel are possible but manageable. The important point is that your usage does include highway runs and a longer outstation trip every few months, which is usually enough to allow proper regeneration and keep the DPF healthy. You do not need any special precautions, but taking the car out for a 20 to 30 minute highway drive every few weeks will help.
Mahindraโs 1.5 litre diesel is a well proven and robust engine, with reasonable service costs and good long term reliability. Major issues typically arise only when DPF warnings are repeatedly ignored. In terms of ageing, Mahindra diesels and drivetrains are known to last well over many years, and electronics have improved noticeably in recent generations.
There is little to complain about when it comes to fit and finish. The Mahindra XUV 3XO has good interior quality and should continue to feel premium over time. That said, the white interior will show signs of ageing sooner than darker interiors, as even minor stains tend to be more visible.
Overall, if you want to own a punchy diesel while you still can, the XUV 3XO diesel makes sense for your usage pattern and should serve you well over a long ownership period.
I want to buy an automatic sub-4-metre SUV with a budget not exceeding โน13 lakh on-road. I will be using it occasionally during weekends or for outstation trips, so safety and comfort are my top priorities. I am confused between the XUV 3XO, Brezza, Nexon, and Venue. Please suggest the best option and the variant to go for.
I am looking to buy a new compact SUV with safety as my absolute top priority. My driving split will be roughly 40% city and 60% highway, mainly for weekend trips. Since my wife is a new driver and I am experienced, we have decided on an automatic for ease of use. The contenders are Tata Nexon (DCA/AMT), Mahindra XUV 3XO (TC), Skoda Kylaq (TC), and Tata Punch (AMT). My dilemma is that I am deeply concerned about the long-term reliability of proper automatics like torque converters and dual-clutch transmissions once the warranty expires. I have heard about high repair costs compared to simpler AMTs. My questions: Given my 60% highway usage, will I regret the "head-nod" and slower response of an AMT, or is the peace of mind regarding maintenance worth it? How risky are modern DCA/TC gearboxes today? Are they reliable enough to last 8-10 years without a total meltdown? Which of these four cars offers the best balance of safety, highway stability, and gearbox longevity?
I am confused between the Tata Altroz diesel and the XUV 3XO MPFI petrol. My running is around 1,500 km per month, and once every 2โ3 months, I do long trips of about 2,500 km. Should I save money and buy the Altroz, or spend extra for the added comfort of the 3XO?
I have finalized mahindra 3xo, but mileage is a concern. My daily running is 25km and a monthly trip of around 300 to 500km. Can I opt for 1.5 Diesel in 3xo or should I go with 1.2 TGDi.
Considering your running of around 1,000 to 1,200 km a month, it makes more sense to go for the petrol Mahindra 3XO.
In our real world economy test, the diesel was around 3 kpl more efficient than the petrol, which translates to a saving of roughly Rs 3,000 a month. However, the diesel is also over Rs 1 lakh more expensive, so it will take years to recover that extra upfront cost.
So, weโd recommend the petrol over the diesel. And if youโre looking at an automatic, itโs a no contest as the petrol gets a refined 6-speed torque converter, while the diesel comes with a relatively crude AMT.
I am looking for a car under 8-9 lakhs. At home, we have a 2015 Hyundai i10 Grand and a 2018 Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Both are manual and petrol. Now I am going to purchase a car for myself in Bangalore. Usage will particularly be on weekends with overall mix of (40% city and 60% outstation trips). I was willing to explore new automaker beyond Maruti and Hyundai. Mahindra 3XO and Skoda Kylaq has impressed me but their base variants doesn't offer the value for money. At this point I am in a confusion whether to go back to Maruti to get the value for money and reduce overall ownership cost.
In your budget, you will end up with the absolute base variants of the Mahindra 3XO and Skoda Kylaq. So, compared to cars with a lower starting price, they can feel a bit basic in terms of features and equipment.
That said, even in their base trims, both SUVs offer effortless performance, a more sophisticated driving experience thanks to their strong ride and handling, and in the case of the 3XO, excellent interior space.
Weโd recommend considering the recently launched Skoda Kylaq Classic Plus, as it adds a good mix of essential and premium features like a single pane sunroof, 16 inch steel wheels with covers, cruise control, an auto dimming IRVM, and rain sensing wipers.
If you want to stay within the Maruti Suzuki family, you can look at the Maruti Suzuki Fronx Delta Plus. It offers more features, but it may not feel like a meaningful upgrade over the Maruti Suzuki Baleno you already own.
