The Sealion 7 will surely be an amazing electric SUV. I am really excited about the advanced tech that it offers like the ADAS level 2. Coming with a price tag Rs 45 lakh, it is a premium offering, but with that big and powerful 230 kW motor and best in class luxury features, it feels worth it.

I got this vehicle last month and I used to get on an average 500km range. My family loves this vehicle a lot, my children?s are die hard fan of this car, I too have other cars but they prefer BYD over any other brand. Interior of car has excellent fit and finish. Colour of car is too fab it looks stunning in every aspect.

This is a very good car. I like this car more in terms of safety and range. This is the car that all my family members like. I use it for office and sports. Drifting oh my god is awesome. I have never seen such a car before. By the way the car is awesome and very good in terms of design and safety. I like it.

This car is beautiful and looks great. It has a strong road presence and an impressive interior. It's pricier than competitors, but it offers plenty of power without being intimidating. The cabin space is ample for five adults, and the boot is spacious too. One thing I'd suggest is improving the suspension for a more plush and stable ride at higher speeds. Overall, it's a fantastic car, and I have no regrets. It also provides a range of over 460-470 km on a full charge.

I was literally shocked by the power of this car; it goes from 0-100 in just 6.30 seconds. People look at the price, but I say, get inside and feel the premium interior first. Then you can decide if it's worth the 50 lakhs.

Hello guys, I’m a 30 year old working professional and am looking to buy an EV mainly for city commute and occasional highway driving (20%). I appreciate build and ride quality, refinement and reliability. The EVs that I’m mainly looking at are the Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, BYD Sealion 7 and BMW iX1. Which do you think will be the right fit for my use case? I’m actually leaning towards the Korean cars and am not willing to spend for the iX1 just for its badge value. The Kia EV6 is the most driver-focused option from the list with a sportier character and sharper handling, but it comes at a premium which might not make it justify the stretch. However, Kia dealers are offering significant discounts which could bring its price at par with the others, and only then is it a compelling buy.After its recent update, the new Hyundai Ioniq 5 no longer feels value for money, but it remains a comfortable, feature-loaded and practical option, now with more range and better DC fast charging capability. Hyundai’s service network and ownership experience are also strong, which matters for long-term peace of mind.The BYD Sealion 7 feels like a flagship offering, with a luxurious interior and a laundry list of features. Surprisingly, the two-wheel drive version is the most value-for-money option here, which makes it very compelling. However, it doesn't drive as well as the BMW, nor is its after-sales support as widespread as the others. The BMW iX1 is a fundamentally sorted car, and is relatively more compact for city usage. Its ride-handling balance are excellent and it also comes with the snob value of the BMW badge. As a 30-year old, the iX1 will speak of your success and achievements like no other. But it lacks several features, hence it might not seem value for money.In summary, get the Kia EV6 for the best drive experience provided you get a substantial discount that brings its price close to others. But if you're looking for the best bang for your buck, opt for the rear-wheel drive BYD Sealion 7.

Dear Autocar India experts, I am planning to buy a new car for my daily commute. I live in a hilly area and want my next car to be spacious enough for taking my three kids to school and for family functions. I have been waiting for the Skoda Superb for almost a year. Now that it is finally coming to India, I have heard that it may not be offered with a petrol engine, which is what I was hoping for. I am a fan of diesel cars, but I have had a bad experience with DPF issues in my Velar, so I am now hesitant to go down that route again. As an alternative, I am considering an electric car and have been looking at the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and BYD Sealion 7. I would like to know your expert opinion on these two EVs, particularly when it comes to after-sales service and ownership experience. Which one would you recommend for my requirements, or should I wait and go for the Skoda Superb anyway? I currently use a Brezza diesel for my daily commute and also have a Zen for fun drives. Kindly help me make the right choice. Thank you for your expert advice.

Given your requirements, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is the better fit. You live in a hilly area, have three kids and need a car for school runs and family functions, so space, comfort and practicality are key. The Ioniq 5 is a large, spacious EV with a flat floor, excellent rear seat space and a big boot, making it well suited to family use. Hyundai also has a far stronger service network and EV support infrastructure than BYD, which is important for long-term ownership confidence.The BYD Sealion 7 is a very impressive EV with a larger battery and longer claimed range, but BYD's service network is still relatively limited compared to Hyundai. In a hilly area where you may need support, that matters. The Ioniq 5's range is already very strong and more than adequate for daily use, so the difference is not worth the trade-off in service confidence.As for the Skoda Superb, it is a fantastic car, but it is coming only as a diesel. Given your bad experience with DPF issues on your Velar and your preference for petrol, it is not the right choice. Modern diesels are cleaner, but DPF issues can still occur in hilly, stop-start conditions if the car is not regularly driven on longer runs.You already have a Maruti Suzuki Brezza diesel for daily use and a Zen for fun drives, so the Ioniq 5 adds a spacious, comfortable and reliable family car to your garage without the DPF concerns. It is the most sensible and future-proof choice for your needs.

If you are not in a hurry, waiting a few months could give you a clearer picture of the segment and potentially better value. If you need a car now, this BYD car is a solid choice.

Hi, I currently own a Jeep Meridian and a BMW 330Li. I’m looking to trade in my BMW 330Li for a better car. The problem with the current 330Li is extremely poor ingress and egress, no ventilated seats and no 360-degree camera. My budget is 85 OTR Delhi. My current usage is a 50 km office drive three times a week and a quarter-yearly outstation trip with less than 400 km one way. Since I love driving and am the sole driver in my family, I don’t need a chauffeur. I’ve owned the Jeep for four years and driven it over 40,000 km. I’ve owned the BMW for two years and driven less than 10,000 km. I’ve seen a few options, including the Volvo XC90, BMW X3 30i, BMW 5 Series, Mercedes E200, BYD Sealion 7 and felt that the 5 Series fits best. Please suggest the best way to proceed, or if there are other options that I have missed. I’ve considered selling the Jeep as well and getting two new cars. I’m looking for expert advice.

You're right, the BMW 5 Series LWB is probably your best bet. For a self-driven upgrade, it delivers the best mix of performance, driving feel, luxury and long-distance comfort. The hip point is noticeably higher, and the doors open wider than your 330Li, so getting in and out is easier, and the ride is comfy over broken Delhi roads while still feeling stable out on the highway. It also has the features you're looking for, including ventilated seats.Downsides are that it is a significantly larger car and not as exciting to drive as your 330Li, and since you enjoy driving, that might feel like a step backwards. Also, while ingress and egress are better than the 3 Series, it's still a low-slung sedan, so try it out, and if it's a bother, the BMW X3 30 might suit you better. Same engine, even more features, and almost as much fun to drive. The Sealion 7 is an excellent EV alternative, but the BYD car won't be as nice to drive as the BMW car, and though a 400km trip is manageable on a single charge, range anxiety will always hang over the journey.If you're happy with the Jeep, hold on to it for a while. Diesel cars are becoming rarer these days, and you've already taken the depreciation hit, so you might as well enjoy it as long as you can.

The BMW iX1 is a solid luxury EV and does exactly what you would expect from the brand. It offers a premium cabin, good rear seat space and a polished ownership experience. But as an EV package, it feels more conservative and less exciting than the BYD car.The Sealion 7 feels like the more ambitious product. The cabin technology is richer, the battery pack is significantly larger, the range is stronger, and overall, it feels like a more modern and more complete EV. In terms of sheer EV sophistication, it has the edge.On comfort, it depends on what you value. The BMW car has the softer, more traditional luxury car ride, especially at lower speeds. The BYD feels more spacious and more special inside, but the ride is firmer over sharper bumps.
