JSW-MG Motor India has silently introduced a fleet-only Commute variant for the Windsor EV at Rs 13.49 lakh, ex-showroom. As per a dealer source, the cost-effective BaaS battery rental option extends to this variant, which will reduce the upfront cost of the vehicle for buyers. Compared to the Excite base model, the Commute variant costs about Rs 61,000 less. As a result, it misses out on some features.
- Windsor Commute uses a 38kWh battery pack
- 17-inch steel wheels, 7-inch driver's display, 2 airbags on offer
MG Windsor Commute price break-up

MG Windsor Commute range
Like the Excite model, the Windsor Commute uses a 38kWh battery pack. For reference, 38kWh Windsor Excite has an ARAI-rated range of 332km, and it takes 7 hours to charge from 10-100 percent with a 7.4kW AC charger, while a 45kW DC charger does a 20-80 percent top-up in 45 minutes.
MG Windsor Commute features
Speaking of the exterior, features like LED projector headlights, ORVM-mounted turn indicators, flush-fitting door handles have been carried over, but instead of alloys, the EV rides on 17-inch steel wheels (without covers). The interior gets a black theme, contrasted by gold accents on some trims, and fabric has been used for the seat upholstery. The 7-inch LCD instrument cluster is also borrowed from the Excite version, but Commute misses out on the central 10.1 inch touchscreen; instead, an infotainment unit offering limited features such as USB, FM and Bluetooth is on offer.
Other features include manual AC and ORVM, cruise control, tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, power windows, USB chargers (front: 1 Type C and 1 Type A, rear: 1 Type C). Those seated at the back can also enhance ride comfort by reclining the seats. As for safety, all-4 disc brakes, 2 airbags, hill-hold assist, tyre pressure monitoring system and three-point seatbelts have been provided.
