Questions you may find useful
With a running of around 40 km per week and a budget of Rs. 16-20 lakh, which car should I buy? I like the Seltos, but I am also considering an EV, such as the MG Windsor. Please suggest whether petrol, diesel, or EV would be the best choice for my usage, and which car I should consider.
With just 40 km a week, your running is extremely low, so it doesn't justify the premium you'd pay for a diesel or even an EV. In this case, a petrol car is the most sensible choice. The Kia Seltos is a very good all-rounder and a safe recommendation in your budget. This Kia car offers a premium feel, good space and a comfortable ownership experience. The MG Windsor is a good electric car, but given your running, the financial case for an EV simply does not add up. You will not recover the higher upfront cost through fuel savings. The Seltos petrol is the more practical and cost-effective choice for your usage.
I am using MG Hector plus Savvy pro CVT April,2023 model but its mileage is coming down to 7 to 8 on highway due to E 20 fuel, company is also saying that yr vehicle is E 20 compliant and need not worry about engine but during my highway trip to Delhi journey, my car stopped on flyover while running and did not take start, i have to call RSA and car went to service centre by towing. In service centre they told me that while cleaning engine tank white color substance found due to this fuel injection line choked and did not take start due to E 20 petrol. Now I want to switch to EV of either MG windser or TATA punch EV or Maruti E vitara. which is suitable as safety and price wise and range and charging price. My budget is 15 lac.
I live in Navi Mumbai and am looking for an electric car. I've shortlisted the Tata Sierra Adventure 75kWh (around Rs 23 lakh) and the MG Windsor Essence Pro (around Rs 20 lakh). I'm not able to decide which one to go with.
Go for the Tata Sierra EV 75kWh. It's the superior EV in almost every way. It's got a significantly larger battery, so even if it isn't quite as efficient as the MG Windsor Essence Pro, the overall real-world range will be better. Though this MPV is spacious, the Sierra is even more so, with a much larger boot. It's more powerful with a rear-wheel-drive layout and more fun to drive as well. Tata's service network is also wider than MG's, so you are more likely to find something closer to you.The only things that could swing it in favour of the MG car are the fact that it is slightly smaller and thus easier to manoeuvre around town, and the Rs 3 lakh price difference. However, we feel in this case the Sierra EV 75kWh is worth the stretch, and that you should go for it
