The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara SUV has received a new all-black cosmetic package dubbed the Phantom Blaq Edition. This new edition arrives in the wake of competing brands launching blacked-out SUVs, and Maruti Suzuki’s Nexa premium retail network celebrating its 10th anniversary.

Available solely in the Grand Vitara Alpha+ strong hybrid variants, the Phantom Blaq Edition is a dealer-level fitment that costs Rs 1 lakh extra and gets a three-year warranty, with an additional insurance fee of around Rs 5,000.

The Phantom Blaq edition sports a new Matte Black wrap, which will be applied by 3M. It gets blacked-out 17-inch alloy wheels and every bit of chrome has been replaced by black trim pieces, save for the window surrounds and Maruti Suzuki emblems.

Interior remains unchanged.

The interiors of the Grand Vitara Phantom Blaq Edition get no changes as the SUV’s strong-hybrid variants already get an all-black cabin with leatherette upholstery and champagne gold trim pieces.

The features list of the Grand Vitara sees no updates either, so you still get goodies like a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, a heads-up display, a wireless charger, a 4-speaker Clarion sound system with 2 tweeters, and more.

Strong-hybrid powertrain makes 116hp (combined).

As mentioned above, the Grand Vitara Phantom Blaq Edition can be had with the SUV's strong-hybrid powertrain only, which couples a 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine to a 0.76kWh lithium-ion battery and front-mounted electric motor. This setup puts out a combined 116hp and is mated to an eCVT auto gearbox. Claimed fuel efficiency for the Grand Vitara hybrid stands at an impressive 27.97kpl.
