Kia is gearing up to launch the Sonet facelift in India, and new images show the exterior and interior of the upcoming compact SUV. The design of the Sonet facelift will fall in line with the recently refreshed Seltos and other global models.

  1. Sonet facelift to get new alloy wheel design
  2. Expected to get redesigned LED lights
  3. Powertrain options likely to remain the same

Kia Sonet facelift exterior, interior design

The images show that the Sonet facelift will get a new design for its 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Furthermore, the compact SUV can be seen with redesigned LED head- and tail-lights that look similar to the ones seen on the new Seltos. Kia is also likely to offer a revised grille and a new design for the bumpers.

On the inside, it continues with a small screen for displaying climate control details, albeit with a new design – the two-row button layout is now a single row with a set of toggles.

The Sonet facelift can also be seen with a new digital instrument cluster, akin to the one seen on the Venue facelift. Additionally, the Sonet also gets a new brown colour for the upholstery and an armrest for the rear seat, with the latter making a comeback.

Kia Sonet facelift powertrain

The Sonet facelift is likely to continue with the existing 83hp, 115Nm, 1.2-litre petrol engine, a 120hp, 172Nm, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 116hp, 250Nm, 1.5-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine is expected to be mated to a 5-speed manual, while the turbo-petrol and diesel engines will retain the 6-speed iMT. Additionally, they will also get a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and 6-speed automatic, respectively.

Kia Sonet facelift India launch, rivals

Kia is expected to launch the Sonet facelift in India next year, and it will rival the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.
