This is the second price hike introduced for the MPV by Kia since its initial launch back in February 2022. The Carens has been on high demand since its launch, and back in September 2022, we mentioned how the Kia MPV also had the longest waiting period in its segment.

    • Kia Carens petrol price hike ranges from Rs 10,000-50,000
    • Diesel variants prices hiked by up to Rs 35,000
    • Rivals the Maruti Suzuki Eritga and XL6

Kia Carens: petrol powertrain and pricing

The Carens is powered by a choice of two petrol powertrains – a 115hp, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated unit and a 140hp, 1.4-litre turbocharged unit. Both engines are offered with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard, but the 1.4-litre unit also gets a 7-speed DCT automatic as an option.

The naturally aspirated manual variants of the MPV see a maximum hike of up to Rs 50,000. On the other hand, turbo-petrol manual variants of the Carens get a hike between Rs 10,000-20,000.

Meanwhile, the turbo petrol variants of the Carens with the DCT automatic gearbox see a uniform price hike of Rs 20,000. Overall, the petrol-powered Carens now starts at Rs 10 lakh, going all the way up to Rs 17.70 lakh.

Here's a look at the Carens petrol's pricing when compared to its last price hike it received back in April 2022.

The Kia Carens squarely competes against the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga (Rs 8.41 lakh) and XL6 (Rs 11.29 lakh) in the market, and also sees competition from the Mahindra Marazzo (Rs 13.40 lakh). Kia was spotted testing the Carens CNG back in April 2022, and this variant could compete against the Ertiga CNG and the recently launched XL6 CNG.
