Honda opened bookings for the new Elevate SUV yesterday for a token amount of Rs 21,000, and the price announcement is slated for this September. Our dealer sources have now confirmed that the Elevate will be available in four trim levels – SV, V, VX and ZX – that's identical to the City sedan. They've also revealed some of the features that will be on offer on each trim.

    1. Honda Elevate to come in four trims like the City
    2. Bookings already underway for Rs 21,000
    3. ADAS features, 6 airbags to be limited to top-spec trim

Honda Elevate: features on individual trims

    Honda Elevate SV

The base SV trim of the Elevate gets features like LED projector headlamps and LED tail-lamps, push button start/stop, automatic AC, beige fabric upholstery, 16-inch steel wheels and dual-front airbags. However, it is likely to miss out on a touchscreen infotainment system.

    Honda Elevate V

The V trim, over and above the SV, will get you an 8.0-inch touchscreen with four speakers, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car technology, rear-view camera and steering-mounted controls. The Elevate also gets a CVT automatic gearbox in this trim.

    Honda Elevate VX

The higher-spec VX trim gets you more creature comforts like a single-pane sunroof, 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, roof rails, a 7.0-inch semi-digital instrument cluster, lane watch camera, wireless charger, auto folding wing mirrors, LED fog lamps and a 6-speaker sound system.

    Honda Elevate ZX

The top-spec ZX trim gets the 10.25-inch touchscreen, six airbags, Honda Sensing ADAS suite, eight speakers, leatherette brown upholstery, soft-touch dashboard and auto dimming interior day/night mirror. The Elevate will also get a Phoenix Orange colour, but that will be limited to just this ZX trim. Dual-tone colour options will also be exclusive to the ZX trim.

    Honda Elevate powertrain options

Powering the Elevate will be a 121hp, 145Nm, 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine mated to a 6-speed manual or an optional 7-step CVT gearbox, with the manual being standard across the range.

While this powertrain is shared with the City, the 1.5-litre strong-hybrid from the sedan will not feature on the Elevate as it has not been localised yet, thereby making it a pricey proposition.

    Honda Elevate price and rivals

Upon launch, the Elevate will rival the likes of the Hyundai CretaKia SeltosVolkswagen TaigunSkoda KushaqMaruti Suzuki Grand VitaraToyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor and the upcoming Citroen C3 Aircross. Given the competition from established players in the market, the success of the Elevate will depend on how Honda prices it.
